He's just being what he is, a decent backup PG. Let's get something straight around here. The guy was never supposed to be God's gift to the PG spot, but he really did give us everything he had this year early on. Now that he's all worn out and spent guys around here want to just dump on him and I find that to be pure garbage.

Ask yourselves if it made any sense for him to be a league leader in minutes played after being a career backup? Clearly we had him sacrifice himself for the sake of the teams future. We made a ton of trades and asked him to hold the fort with no support. I think it's really unfair to bash the guy for not being a stud PG and still demanding that he not only play at a high level, but do more than anyone should be reasonably expected to do with his talent level. I mean come on guys.

I'm gonna go out of my way to bash anyone that goes overboard blaming Duhon when they know the facts of his situation this year. He was a stop gap to begin with and that hasn't changed. He sucked it up and played till he broke down and all we can do is bash him? GEEZ! If he had a backup or better yet if we added a true starting PG, this guy would be a solid player for us.

He's backup PG, not a starter on a good team. He can start for now for all I care but come 2010 we need a real PG in the mix.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

"Duhon gets praised as a 'pass-first' point guard. But he's not 'pass first'. He's 'ass first'. His most preferred style of play is to play like ass. Then pass, then shoot. Oftentimes never getting to that third one, crippling your offensive flow, and ticking me off." - frustrated Bulls fan.

Looks like you have your work cut out for you Nix. The bashing runs deep and seems to extend beyond his Knick days. Good luck with that

I could care less about his Bulls days. I think he was a good pickup but as we all knew he was a stop gap until we get someone better. He could be a pseudo starter if we're grooming a young future starter, but he's still not the final answer. So why bash him? It's not his fault that we don't have real starting PG.

Duhon's playing like he's exhausted. He needs a rest. He played much better earlier in the season.

I know Duhon best for fantasy purposes. Each year it seemed like he'd have a 15-25 game window were he was a good-to-great start, and the rest of the year he wasn't worth a roster spot. I know fantasy and real wrold don't exactly mesh, but I think here it makes sense... look at his physique, doesn't exactly look like a guy that can dominate for 82

Duhon is a pile of cow ****, his turnovers put us in hole at the start of every game and we have to expend too much energy trying to get back in it. When we do get back in the game he just makes stupid turnovers again and take us out of it for good. Start Nate I say. Duhon sucks major ass.

He doesn't suck... when he's healthy. He's clearly had something wrong with him for a while now.

If he's not injured... then he does suck. The turnovers look completely and utterly terrible.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

Not trying to bash him nixluva but how can you explain those terrible passes he does
that goes right to the other teams? That one game vs. The Sixers he had 4 TO's in the first 5 poss.
That was not from fatigue or him being hurt.
I will not bash him but I will speak the truth and yes your right with everything you say but that does not make us wrong.

He's not as well conditioned as they thought, clearly. He has limitations but he can play NBA bball at a high level at times too. There is a role for him on most teams. But on any bad team weaknesses will be magnified.

Knicks aren't a particularly great team from a talent standpoint, nor were they intended to be from the moves made by Walsh this year. Its not a surprise that they haven't been able to make it over the finish line, but its dissapointing that they haven't made improvements in certain respects (fininshing games). That's another blight on Duhon- as he hasn't been able to deliver in a 1 possession situation like that.

You can say all you want about Duhon's actual role on this team. You can say he played hard and is now worn out. The fact is he is a professional. The fact is that he is making bone head plays and giving games away. I can understand him being fatigued but he is not and has never brought anything to this team beyond what he is doing now. The difference is he is not executing ane when you are as limited as Duhon is, you can't afford to not execute because that leaves him with very limited contribution which is what we are seeing now.

Duhon walks the ball up. He has done that from the beginning. Duhon is not driving the ball to the hoop. He has never done that even from day one. At least not on a consistent basis. Duhon is not improvising on the court. Duhon doesn't know what the word means.

Duhon is a system PG. Once you figure out the system, you figure him out. He brings nothing else in terms of sheer ability so if you neutralize the system, you neutralize him. I love David Lee but unless he shows more ability, he too will fall into the system type player bracket.

Basketball I.Q.? Ok I will give Duhon that but the text book can only get you so far in this game. At some point you have to be able to play beyond the text book because that's what opposing teams do. They figure out what our offensive scheme is and plan against it. How we counter that depends on the personnel at our disposal.

To me, Duhon's negatives are starting to out weigh his positives with each passing game. In fact, I believe they already have a long time ago.

Enough!!! What

Kinda pro athelete is he if he can't play the game for 82 games? He's tired? Then he needs to be benched!!!

He sets the table for destruction. He allows the opposing point guard to have career nights....

His turnovers are terrible....and if a guy isn't wide open or receiving that same tired bounce pass on a pick and roll then he is useless.......annnnnnnnnnnnnddd.....he's not a pass first point guard. Half the time he looking for his jumpshot or force driving with no speed to the basket.

I can't dog him enough. He deserves this bashing because I'm not lying about any of this.

He definately needs to be a back-up.....15-20 mins a game. Let a real point guard come in and play 40 minutes a night and show him what it is to be starting point guard/ professional athlete in the nba!

Donnie is getting some great bang for his buck with this guy. We are still barely in the playoff hunt because of his play in the first half of the season. He's not God's gift to the PG position, but he can be pretty good. Right now he's #11 in Minutes Played between Ray Allen & Lebron James with 2,328 minutes so far. That's a lot. He had 2,177 minutes last season. Dude just hit his cap. Since he's had so much time out there, it's fair to say other teams have plenty of film of him and know his limitations.

So, he's not an All-Star but he's playing All-Star minutes. And he's the only perceived "true" PG on the team. Dude needs a rest, but the Knicks need someone else that D'Antoni can trust with the rock at the 1. Is that Nate? Hughes?

His recent play seems to lead credence to the idea that he parties too much, therefore his conditioning leaves a lot to be desired.

Duhon is a career backup. He played out of his mind the first 2 months but the league adjusted to him playing in D'Antoni's offense just as it should. Duhon will make a great backup either with us or another team.

What even makes it worse is that Duhon actually had some streaks where he played pretty good ball, and comparing then to now makes the way he is playing now all the more upsetting to Knicks fans. I think he raised expectations for some of us, and we feel a bit betrayed.

His decline has been puzzling, to say the least.

Chris Duhon was always a backup PG in this league. Only those who made him out to be a whole lot more based on nothing but inflated statistics are puzzled or disappointed by his regression toward the mean.
