D-Wade: I Merit MVP Consideration

Dwyane Wade believes that his name deserves to be mentioned in the MVP conservation thanks to a great individual season and the resurgence of the Heat.

"Where I came from last year, people were writing me off," Wade said of the 2007-08 season. "You've got some people who call it a two-man race, and you've got some people who say, 'Don't forget about D-Wade.'

"I'm just happy to be in the discussion. Coming from where I came from last year, my team winning 15 games to where we are now, it's a blessing."

Wade also seriously discussed how the MVP award should be handed out.

"Most Valuable player to his team, simple as that," he said. "I'm not taking anything from Kobe last year. I thought he was unbelievable. I thought he should have won MVPs in previous years. But I thought Chris Paul was the most valuable player to his team last year, from the way he played and what he meant to that team.

"You've got to take a guy off a team and say, 'If he wasn't on there, how would this team be?' and see everything he brings to his team. That's my interpretation of what a most valuable player is. But everyone has their different takes."

yeah, I had no problem with that. Also we never heard the question that led to this answer either, and that could have a lot to do with his response. I personally think he's right

Wade is a clown. Lebron is light years away from Kobe's level imo, let alone Dwayne Fade.

The emotion you're displaying over his words are not proportional at all to what he said. He was humble and said it was a blessing to be in the discussion, but that he felt he should win it. What's wrong with that? What's he supposed to say?

Here's a little secret --- in order to be an NBA superstar you have to have a healthy ego and mounds of self-confidence. You dont hide in the corner talkin' like Bobby Jindal. Ha.

This same clown that suggested he only flipped a switch the other night because he caught an elbow to the chops? The same moron that was handed a championship ring by some of the WORST (purposeful) reffing in NBA Finals history?

I agree cosmic.. some peoeple didn't see the problem with his comments, and BTW, my thread caused a big stirr amongst the miami homers over on the other site... , I don't know why...I mean those miami fans are something else..... I though the " I felt it was a cheap shot and I turned on the switch" comment was arrogant and whiney.... and this talk of MVP is ridiculous for it to even come out of mouth.. After acting like a bitch after he got hit in his mouth and screaming this is "my house".. lebron came in, and put his new shoes right up wades colon, with 42 points and did it in such a calm manor.. LOL..

STFU wade... Kobe and lebron's teams are 15 games better than yours!!

You're a strange guy, tkf. One minute, you are bashing Hedo for being nothing but a 3 point shooter who only has great games against the Knicks despite the fact that he has great games against most of the league and the next moment you praise Gallinari (the guy that everyone hopes he can do the same thing that Hedo does on a regular basis). Then you bash a guy like Wade for putting the entire team on his back without complaining to management while you heap praise on Kobe who did the exact opposite when he asked for Shaq to be traded and then complained about not having enough help to contend for a title and demanded a trade. I like Kobe too but Wade is doing more for his team right now than Kobe. nah... I don't like hedo not because all he does is hit threes.. actually he is not that great of a three point shooter. I don't like him because he plays a dumb game, and when he plays the knicks, he seems to play out of his skin.. It is a thing I have against the leagues average joes, having good games vs the knicks... And the fact is, Hedo doesn't have great games vs the rest of the league.. where did you get that from?

I do find it funny now that lebron has all of this help, well what about the year he went to the finals? And if you think wade is doing more for his team than kobe is for the lakers... then that is on you.. Shooting 25 shots a game doesn't mean you are doing more.. with that reasoning, I can say Al harrington is doing more for the knicks than kobe is for the lakers... I mean why stop there.. we can take it all the way down to david lee?? Oh but I forgot, the knicks have a losing record right? well the lakers have 15+ more wins than the heat..

BTW: if all gallo becomes is Hedo.. then I will be dissapointed... for real.... I would hope gallo has more ball IQ in his big toe, than hedo has in that lopsided head of his..

Wade should earn MVP consideration but I don't think he should be the one saying it, let your play do the talking.
