Even if we got rid of Eisley, Spoon and Anderson's contracts we would still be over the cap. Some imply these bench guys are killing the cap.

You raise a good point, Playa.

I've got to admit I've been too lazy to understand the details of the Knicks cap situation. I've been assuming there's no way they get under the cap w/o moving Houston or until his contract expires. That seems to be accurate (if not technically, in practice).

So, no building through free agency (except mid-level exceptions) in the foreseeable future, unless, as someone suggested in another thread, they expose Houston int he expansion draft and he's picked up.

It'll be interesting to see if they do that. I like Houston and don't know if they'd get a player as good in free agency, but think it would be the right move. However expensive Houston seems now, imagine him a few years older still pulling down this kind of $.

If they really want to build for a reasonable shot at a championship, letting Houston go, really sucking for one season and getting a high lottery pick and having big $ to spend on FA would seem the way to go.

But that's a lot to sacrifice.

They are kiling the cap in the sense that thier production doesn't equal their paycheck. You could have a better bench with more athleticism at a less price.

I just wanted to expose that "MYTH" that those role guys are killing our SALARY CAP . So many were under that assumption because of the point you made about production being equal with their pay check. BUT IN ALL REALITY EVERYBODY CAN'T HANDLING PLAYING IN NEWYORK CITY FOR WHATEVER REASON.

I think you are hyping the place up to much playa. Performance of the players is about how they are taught and brought up. I think under the right circumstances 90% of the players in the NBA can play here. players don't care for where they play. They are just as happy playing in Sac Town or San Antonio as anywhere else. to them they don't give a crap where they play as long as they get their pay check.

True that, Vmart...

and NYK seems to be becoming the team where half-azz players can come and get PAID (Especially if they have some kind of Utah connection). Whether they are journeymen, soft, hurt or old, we'll take them and pay them like they are gonna make the All-Star team for the next seven years...

Scott LayDown is such an ASS.
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

Vmart, I mean a lot of those cities you named don't have the media scrutinty that NY has. Pressure to perform , pressure from mass media, pressure from fans etc.. It's all magnified playing in NY. JERSEY DON'T HAVE PRESURE playing in Meadowlands. LOL Ask Mutumbo
