Knicks center Eddy Curry has filed a countersuit against his former driver claiming that the man and his lawyers spread details of confidential settlement talks.

Curry is being sued by the driver for sexual harassment.

Curry seeks more than $50,000 in damages from Dave Kuchinsky, his lawyers Leslie Levine and Matthew Blit. He also wants a judge to order Kuchinsky and his lawyers not to discuss the case publicly.

.
.
.......................
Yet, uh, he's suing for details of a private settlement being leaked? Not for defamation? So...did all that happen and Curry tried to settle in private? He's upset that details of a private settlement were leaked and not upset at the actual claims? So they were legit claims? Am I missing something here?

Oh boy....

Does a guy who makes eight figures really need $50,000?

When is this dude going to hit bottom?

Holy cow. Does he have Mike Tyson for an adviser or something?

He owes 40K to a clothing store in Chicago. He owed his driver 100K. I'm sure there's more.

He also pleaded for the Knicks to front him 8M of this year's salary back before the season began. (It's not uncommon for teams to do this apparently) The Knick gave him 2M of his salary up front.

What have we heard of him since? Nothing basketball related outside of being woefully out of shape. He was also supposed to start practicing with us after the ASG and he never showed up. Word is he's still at home nursing his bum knee.

This guy is a disaster. I've said it before, bad things happen to nice people once or twice. This guy has been in trouble one way or another for his entire Knick tenure. So either he's the dumbest SOB alive or he's no where near the teddy bear everyone makes him out to be.

Regardless this fat bastard needs to man up and come back to this team so we can try to trade him or he needs to retire so we can dump his 2011 cap hit at least. He needs to do it soon for our sake.

There has to be some deal we can reach where we front his 09/10 money in exchange for him not taking the 10/11 player option.

Nothing Isiah did here can ever be looked at as postive. That is the worst trade in NBA history.

I don't think the Player's Union would go for something like that.

And I lost my head, Cos - I completely forgot that about his apparently horrid $$$ troubles. I agree that that countersuit does seem well... odd in the way it was phrased.

Is there a lawyer in the house that can break this down for us?

so, should he just sue a guy who may have defamed his character for nothing because he makes a lot of money?

jeez some of you guys really love to kill this guy.

put yourself in his position and think if you might want to do the same thing. even if eddy did allegedly do what the guy claims. it's not exactly a dumb move.

Can we give him ten mil to shoot his little toe off and retire.

He gets his money and gets his life in order, we get some kind of relief.

Make it like a hunting accident. Nobody really needs a little toe, execpt a pro basketball player. Its not really cruel to take a mans livleyhood away if he really don't do it any way.

He settled that suit apparently in private. Now he's suing him for releasing details of that settlement. So Curry essentially already copped to what this guy sued him for and settled with him for it.

He had a chance to counter sue for defamation but he instead chose to settle that suit brought against him.

I'm assuming part of that settlement was a gag order on details of that settlement, this guy broke that clause, and Curry sees it as an opportunity to get back the money he paid to settle the original claim.

At least that's what I get out of it.

That, or he settled on the condition it would be quiet. The dude's been through a lot and irregardless of whether this alleged incident happened or not, Curry probably just wanted the whole mess to go away. Maybe all Curry cared about was privacy and privacy is what Curry thought he was purchasing

player's union should have no problem w/that cuz it gets him all his money & he can sign another contract a year earlier... win win for the player... the commissioner on the other hand, is a different story... no way he'd allow something like that.
