Andre Miller, Mike Bibby, Kidd, and possibly Steve Nash.....

All of these guys are gonna be unrestricted free agents. They have a little age on them but signed 3-4 years these guys can still "run a team" better than most guys in the league. The phrase "run a team" is over used but these guys literally control everything that goes on. The know tempo, they are tough, and they all know when to call their own numbers and take over.....they all have been known to make the players around them better.

Now....is it worth it to sign one of these guys to a 3-4 year mid-level contract?

Aside from them, the knicks have a lot of expiring contracts next year....a guy like Baron Davis could be had cuz his name has been all over the rumor mil. Baron is becoming a master at his craft as well. His passing, and floor game is on the level of the guys mentioned.

It would be excellent but I don't think a guy like Sessions I think is totally out of the Knicks reach.

I think the Knicks need a real proven point guard. A rookie is not gonna cut it. The Knicks are looking to 2010, they need to get a real deal point guard. I think the Knicks absolutely need one of the guys I mentioned.....Andre Miller is probably the guy they should target.

Any thoughts?

i thought everyone thought Nate can handle the load? i personally don't view him as a PG but if he's got the confidence of everyone else on this board why not give him the job?

Nate should have been the point guard and he deserves it. They see to like him off the bench. Its all good if the starting point guard was a true floor general. Duhon is not...he totally isn't. He's been getting worse and his body language has been terrible.

Knicks have to think about getting better.....duhon too will be an expiring....they need to look to move him.

If you say this that you automatically put yourself out there for assault....I mean what is your defense?

First off have you been watching the Knicks so far in 2009...jan and feb???? Secondly have you followed Mike Bibby's career? Mike Bibby is head and shoulders better than Duhon and its not even close.

From the post earlier in the year, wasn't he viewed on this board as a keeper?

I think Hughes was partly brought in to share some of the ballhandling load. I think we could very well draft a PG but we need a big man more. Duhon is fine for now if he cuts the inexplicable turnovers. Nate is playing more point than ever these days anyway.

Inexplicable turnovers!!! Lol VD....he's flat out throwing tha ball away. Its being dismissed by most. Elite I believe started a thread about it the other day....I can't see how this topic can making it to 25 pages. Duhon is a complete bum.

I said at the begining that the Knicks need a busier point guard that Chris Duhon. He doesn't create his own shot and he just doesn't make things happen....teams have flat out shut down the pick and roll....Duhon hasn't counter attacked and adjusted....instead he takes these WNBA type 3pters totally our of the flow of the offense...3-5 steps behind the 3pt line.....what the bloody hell dude?

I can't even watch the Knicks anymore with Duhon out there. He's terrible. Is play early on was fools gold.

Anyway I wanna talk about how these other guys can come in next season to help the Knicks....any chance of getting any of them?

knicks get no scoring from the 5 spot.
knicks sf's are very inconsistent.

only 3 guys you can count on to put points up - nate + al + lee.

when you're roster is that void of scoring (in a system predicated on scoring), you must have a pg that can attack and score as well. that's why marbury was a better fit for this team than duhon.

they're better off letting nate run the point with hughes as the defensive sg.

bring duhon off the bench.

is brandon jennings still going to be a top 10 pick despite doing nothing of note in europe?

i ask this because we're most likely going to be picking between 10-15

Lee may never see another pick-n-roll with Nate as the starting PG and others would be pressed to get shots within the offense.

what? so nate can pass the ball to hughes or jeffries to shoot?

i'm sure nate will run the pick and roll with lee if d'antoni tells him to. he's not uncoachable.

I mean, I know he can run the pick n roll with lee every once in a while if MDA tells him to, but can he run an offense? Haven't seen that from Nate.

is duhon running an offense? i don't see nate as a downgrade. duhon isn't doing anything special. he is taking 30 ft 3's like a crackhead tho.

I still think Nick Calathes is your man. Only player in the NCAA to average close to 20 with 6+ assists and 5+ rebounds.

duhon is sucking these days. kinda like the couple week period Nate went through when he couldn't hit a basket or get his head out of his ass.
