Is it on a year-to-year basis, or is it the average value of the deal like in the NHL ?

In the first case, maybe we could heavily backload Lee and Robinson deals to still sign two max FAs in '10, then in the next year be much over the cap again ?

Could that be a possibility ?

Like a 5 year deal worth 50 millions going 2 12 12 12 12 ?
