seems like he goes strong w/2 hands to finish regularly, has some good shotblocking instincts & can knock down a midrange turn around J... where's he projected to go in the draft?

He put on some nice size this year. I've been trying to watch AZST because of Harden and every time I watch them I can't believe how good Pendegrapgh has become. He really is like David Lee with more explosion and better touch. It looks like he is slated to go around where Lee went.

then we probably won't get him unless we trade for an extra draft pick... but i know u'r not in favor of that plan so we probably should focus on guys projected higher up in the draft order.

That first shot of him blocking that shot, it looks like he can sort of jump. I know the angle might distort things but it looks like his head is about 6 inches to a foot from the rim. Is that right?

Picks will be available but we'll have to see what happens with trades and what not.

One of the other YouTube clips ("Jeff Pendegraph Spotlight") was an Arizona TV spot that lookes at his game on the court and also his steadying influence on the team. He interviewed well- seemed to be a good kid. The spot also mentioned that he had added 20 lbs. to his frame.

I liked his wrist followthrough that you could see on some of his jumpers. Very fluid and loose- the kind of followthrough you see with the best jumpshooters. What are his foul shooting stats like? And the guy has that quick leaping ability that makes for a good shot blocker.

If he has the muscle and is a legit 6'10" (Is he really 245?) , would he be the kind of hybrid center that MDA might want? Can run, hit a midrange shot, block shots... but will he be enough of a banger to tangle with the bigger guys down low? More of a "cruiser" than a "battleship," but still an intriguing player to think about.

He shooting 80% from the foul line and nearly 70% from the floor in his Pac ten games. I look at him as a guy who would be a nice get if we are able to buy a second pick--especially if we did not keep Lee. The two guys that I like for our lotto pick is Mullens and Warren or maybe both :) Mullens is going to be awesome. First freshmen to lead the big ten in FG% in 20+ years. As he gets stronger and develops with more FGA's--he's going to be scary. How many athletes in the world are 7-1 275 with pogo's in their legs? He is an absolute elite level type prospect.

pendergraph looks good in those highlights, but they are highlights.

i know briggs is down on lee because dwight howard roughed him up, but... here's the thing about lee:

there are lots of guys in the league who can put together great highlight tapes. but how many guys show up every night and produce? dlee is one. he has something like 21 straight double doubles, most of them of the 20pts and 14reb variety, and i think since december 1 he has a double double in every game but like 3. dlee produces - he's not a shotblocker or a great defender, but he can score and can help the team hold it's own on the boards despite being completely undersized.

Lee's my favorite Knick. It would have to take something that I would deem special for me to personally part with Lee.

If our leadership indeed has their eye on a quality 'value' big forward late in this draft and intend on acquiring another late pick, I like Taj Gibson a little better myself. I know Pendergraph's a little bigger and a little younger but to me Gibson's a better athlete and has the better chance to help a pro club out at the next level right away. I think Gibson's a wonderful well-rounded team player and I think that USC, for whatever reason, never bothered to get the most out of this kid. Similar roles on their teams, same conference against the same competition, Gibson's put up superior numbers across the board and to be honest he should be producing even more - coach Tim Floyd just never bothered to make this kid a focal point for the Trojans since he's been there.

Having said that, I do like Pendergraph. And the fact that he already graduated with a degree and is now just committed to concentrating on playing ball for ASU is very impressive. I mean how many college athletes have done that? I wouldn't be unhappy if we picked him up. Having watched both closely quite a few times, I just think Gibson's the better prospect...
