8 game L-streak and counting. They're now 2 games UNDER .500 and have fallen to the #7 spot. I know Joe Dumars wanted to start the rebuild process now (trading Billups' contract for AI's expiring) to get guys like Stuckey and Maxiel time and all - but if this doesn't demonstrate how valuable Chauncey Billups was to them, I don't know what does.

Their next 2 are at Orlando and At Boston

They'll likely have a 10 game losing streak when Chauncy comes back to the palace next Tuesday

Where's their weakness? I don't get AI being that bad.

He single handedly took Philly to the finals.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

AI "single-handedly" took the a mediocre team in a VERY weak Eastern conference to the finals with the help of one of the best defensive centers in the history of the game. That team wouldn't have made it out of the 2nd round now. Career-wise I think his teams have had a losing record overall, by a significant margin, but I haven't looked it up.

Is AI a bad player? No, but I didn't expect him to make a significant positive impact on Detroit either. Detroit needed to rebuild several years ago.

That was, what, 2000-01?

Right, but is he 0-10 bad at this point?

yeah, this is messed up. i thought since they got iverson, who is still a great scorer by the way, that they would do well. curry might be in over his head with this team. i still give dumars the benefit of the doubt, though. he is a great gm imo.

AI's career is now another footnote to the charles barkley syndrome. He's still under the impression that his job is to win every game himself. Which used to be fun to watch, but doesn't get you rings. Denver's not doing bad, either, are they?

Maybe my TIVO's not showing everything, but can somebody explain to me what's so great about Tayshaun Prince?

Hasn't he already shown enough over the years? Haven't seen him play in like a year or so but can't be that much of a dropoff in his game at his age.

Billups aint on the team any more and I think Wallace has dropped off a lot. AI aint helping things and it seems like Hamilton's roll is way different.

Could be coach, style, teammates or all of the above.

Red Holzman's famous quote was, "Defence wins championships." That's a big part of what Tayshaun does.

Point guard is the staple of the team (Jax triangle excluded).
They just removed it and all fall apart. No surprise.
You can put better engine in the old car and... it will fall apart.
It takes time for team to come together, and it takes no time to break it.
