This one is not even close. Bosh is the slightly better offensive player, but a much better defensive player. David Lee is a NEGATIVE adjusted plus or minus player over the last two years (adjusted for the quality of the players on the court; so this is a very meaningful stat). Bosh is highly positive. Many stats guys like Lee's efficient scoring and rebounding, but fail to appreciate his flaws that show up in plus/minus.

Bosh is way more versatile on offense as well... he can knock down an occasional 3, take his man off the dribble to create his own shot, & hit a turn around fadeaway off a post up which is pretty much unguardable... D Lee has no go-to move he can create for himself other than just working hard down low for points around the rim which he does a great job at... all his other points come off effort plays or by working off the pick & roll w/Duhon & Nate, or from open midrange jumpers that he's been doing a better job of hitting of late... Bosh can do all that & much more...

i dunno if the point of this thread is to ask which of the 2 is a better player or which player Knick fans would rather have considering all the other circumstances of max salaries & other FA's are involved, but if it's the first then i don't see how anyone could pick Lee in this poll... Chris Bosh would be putting up 25 & 10 in this system easy IMO & bring some shotblocking as well.

That Lee +/- stat is very misleading, taken out of context - he's had one of the better +/- stats on the team since he's been on it, and the team has basically been a loser over that time, so you're not gonna see many positive numbers unless its a player playing spot minutes (and mostly garbage time). And I think Lee actually had the highest +/- on the team 2 years ago.

The stat is mostly circumstantial anyway. Lee's been a part of a most of the Knicks most succesful 5 man units that have a statistically significant amount of minutes played.

That being said he isn't as good a player as Bosh- you don't need a ton of science to tell you that, but most of the basic numbers are gonna bear that out. That being said, Lee at 8-9 mil a year vs. Bosh and the max makes it a different argument, especially if you can do something signficant with the difference in that cash.

If that extra money = Nate Robinson? I think that's starting to create a compelling argument.

I think we need a Wade or Lebron to be able to win big. Out of all the max players in 2010 is Bosh the only one on a horrible team?

No way Lee is better than Bosh but if I can Have Lee and a 7 million dollar big man that can guard I take the two players. Bosh has a lot more talent in Toronto and they stink also. We need a big that can defend and a most of all a perimeter defender that can score. Daniels and Jack looked like all americans tonight
