What's the highest pick we could trade for, and who would we target?

Now that the trade deadline is over, the next marker in the history of Knickdom is the 2009 Draft.

Its looking like we'll have a pick in the middle of the draft... yawn...

Now, if we were to take any of the assets that we currently have and trade them, who would get us the highest pick?

Chandler? Still under contract. Lots of potential.

Nate? Ultimate 6th man. Marketing bonanza.

Lee? The great white hope. Best rebounding rate since Rodman.

And if we trade one of them, who do we target and who can we get back?

Jennings would be my thought, but there are clearly others that we could look at.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

Griffin is gonna be a guaranteed star if u ask me, i think if u can trade any of our assets for a top pick to get that guy we shouldn't pass it up... just MHO... probably not realistic cuz i don't see OKL trading a chance to pick their hometown kid if they win the #1 pick.

after him my first choice would be Jennings, i'd be willing to trade Nate & our lottery pick to move up to a top 3 slot to get that kid... or maybe Lee and/or Nate for lottery picks & an expiring, which would give us 2 or 3 lottery picks, & target 2 or 3 out of Patterson, Hill, Thabeet, Mullens and Budinger... that's just me, but my guess is that Donnie's not gonna do that tho at this point & just hold onto both those guys unless some team is willing to give up a stud that's on his wishlist based on what he said in that recent interview after the deadline trades were made... so far Donnie's proven he knows what he's doing so i'll trust in his judgement until he gives me a reason not to.

Jennings is only getting 7 or so ppg in EuroLeague play, but here's a nice quote...

An N.B.A. assistant coach who has been to Europe and has watched Jennings play said his potential draft standing had not been harmed. “I think it is good for him. He was getting a defensive component that he needed. If I was a scout and I needed a point guard, I would be extremely impressed with what he has done over there.”

Is it even possible to make a draft day trade with Nate and Lee considering they are Free Agents just days after???

since we have the rights to match any offer, yes, we could work a sign and trade

Yes, but that's up to the player we're signing and then trading.

That's a good point AllanFanweeeeeeeeered!!!

If Lee doesn't sign the offer sheet he's not going anywhere.
