This is breaking news on ESPN, so I dont have a link but they just reported that Amare's detached retina, as a result of being poked in the eye, could force him to miss the rest of the season.

Its getting sad in the desert, b.

And the Spurs too. Nets only wanted to dump Carter's contract on SA for their absolute trash they didn't care what came back. Spurs said no. Manu now out 3 weeks again injured.

Whoops! Should have done the deal.

Actually, isn't this a second go around for an eye problem? Wasn't he wearing goggles or a mask last year at one point over getting his eye torn up?

I agree, I dont know how they dont make that deal. Yeah, Carter's deal extends for a bit, but the Spurs are aging --- window is closing in on them, so I dont know how much of an emphasis they put on the cap. Vince would have been a hell of a shot in the arm.

Again, they would have gotten him for nothing.

getting poked in the eye is hardly what i'd call a recurring type of injury to be afraid of... that kinda stuff is just a freak occurence that can happen to anyone... he bounced back like a champ from microfracture surgery a couple years back.

I agree. I was going to state the obvious injury plague issues with him. But doesn't injury prone also means getting these type of freak injuries. Camby's fingernail injuries aside.

He's had eye problems before, thats why he was wearing goggles earlier. And he has had two fairly major knee surgeries

& like i said he came back from those knee surgeries & posted 3 consecutive 20+ ppg seasons, so any concern over those surgeries has long been satisfied... & how do u factor that getting poked in the eye is a recurring type injury in certain players over others that warrants concern? does Amare have abnormally big eyeballs? weak eyelids that need conditioning? this is silly.

yeah & Amare hasn't, which is the point i'm making... after those surgeries he came back & posted 2 excellent seasons & missed only 3 games... this year even w/his numbers slightly down from playing in a system he was struggling to get used to & having to share the low post duties w/Shaq, he's still posting over 20 a night & hasn't missed a game all year before this thing w/the eye... i dunno what evidence leads u to believe this guy has a penchant to remain injured when he's proven that not to be the case.

We need to do an All-Injury Team. You know Houston is my starter at the 2.
