(no.. its not a goodbye Jerome thread)

I get so sick of media gossip, Aroid, Chris Brown, Plax and his gun, Pacman this, Vick that... this is more of the kind of stuff I wish the information superhighway would produce over the other fodder.

Cool, I wasn't the only grown ass man whose eyes practically teared up reading this.

A beautiful story.

wow, this has me in tears.. great show of sportsmanship by everyone, from opposing coach to players.... Here is when young kids stood up and acted like MEN.... I know what it is like to lose a mother to cancer, I did 8 years ago... Poor kid, his mother was so damn young.. I wish the best for him, and everyone involved from both teams... The selfless act will never be forgotten... And I wish more stuff like this made the headlines...

I am lucky enough to have been on (and am still on) a team that has that kind of closeness. Sports is life and team sports can be special and really shape people positively.

Very touching/moving story and one that I never would have come across on my own.

Unfortunately, something must have gotten into my eyes while I was reading the story and the words were a little cloudy as I tried to make them out, but I managed to get through it anyway.

Gives you a different perspective on life, sports, and competition.

Glad to have learned about it.

Yes this is a moving story. I too almost welled up. It's nice to see a story like this to balance out the high school brawl I saw at a basketball came earlier in the week on the news.

thats kind of my point. The media drive in our country is sooo fueled by negativity. For every brawl like the one you mentioned there are twice as many of these types of stories.

I just wish major publications print these stories with the same dilligence they do, when a HS brawl breaks out, or some HS kid gets put in jail for receiving oral sex from a girl 1 year younger than he is.....

Is that kid still in jail? I remember some lawyers were helping pro bono, don't know if anything ever happened from that... and that case still is one of the most ludicrous perversions of the American "justice" system I've ever encountered
