Think what you want. Don't look much into the Nate/Lee going to Bulls thing though. I think that's just Isola speculating. If they took Jeffries with Malik, I'd drive to pick up Hughes myself.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

This is the dumbest article ever.

Yeah, Lee shouldn't have committed that foul. Forget trading him, let's waive him. He's crap and shouldn't even be in the league.

Isola is an ass.

If the Knicks can get Hughes for Malik and Jerome I think they have to do it. I think that RealGm runs with anything in the NY tabloids so I am not sure if there is alot to this.

i haven’t read this article but i can tell you this - i can’t stand larry f'g hughes. i don't care how many steals he gets, or used to get. he expires in '10 so if donnie feels this is necessary go ahead, but i'm not gonna be happy having to watch this guy.

Larry Hughes' only value to us is his contract that expires before 2010... the only players it makes sense to trade for him are Curry & Jefferies, otherwise there's really no point... the only other type of trade that might make sense for Hughes is something like Malik & Q Rich or Fugazy for Hughes & a future pick of some sort.

If we do something like this I hope they seek compensation outside of the pure trade i.e a pick or another young player to make up for the 14mm we are taking off of their hands. LH is injury prone and doesnt seem to workout anywhere he goes--not saying don't do a deal but not straight up.

agreed. And a lot of Lee's fouls against Duncan were of the phantom type, and Lee didn't get the same type of fouls on the other end.

I thought the foul against Parker was a good one.

And the Knicks also won. Isola forgot about that.

The Bulls just traded Drew Gooden (PF), Andres Nocioni (SF) , Cedric Simmons (SCRUB) and Michael Ruffin (SCRUB)to Sacramento for Brad Miller (C) and John Salmons (SF) . With that in mind, hows this sound:

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=dakbvn

Bulls trade:
Hughes
Noah
Tyrus Thomas

for

Knicks:
Lee
Curry
Malik Rose

The Bulls would do this trade because:
David Lee and Derrick Rose could do the high pick and roll like no other. Also, Curry is a native son and they have been looking for someone to replace his role since he left. Frankly he is garbage, but his contract fits into the structure of this deal and taking it on is the only way they can get Lee. He can be a backup center over there and hopefully get his life in order. Besides, there is some symmetry in trading him back to the Bulls. With Malik Rose's contract expiring at the end of the year and Lee's pay raise being projected around what Malik Rose is making this year, the total value of the incoming contracts remains roughly the same between this year and next. Also, Hughes is essentially out of their mix now that Salmons is in.

The Knicks would do this trade because:
Tyrus Thomas and Noah fit much better into the 2010 salary structure than Curry and Lee do. Everyone likes Lee, but moving him and Curry together effectively clears enough space for that 2nd max contract which will definitely make NYC the frontrunner for you-know-who. Besides, Thomas has plus upside and Noah should be around the league for many years to come. I don't expect much out of Hughes, but he is another wing and his contract expires for summer 2010.

Isola seems like he's trying to make people angry with this article.

Guy's got some issues.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

What's the point? Unless a trade involves Lee, Nate, Curry or Jeffries, helps the team win next year without adding salary past 2010 or involves adding draft picks, it's a non starter.

He is starting to turn to Bermanism.

He's BEEN Berman for quite some time. The only difference is that he's not controversial. He doesn't take sides with any particular player, like Berman does with Marbury. He also didn't make his paper get sued for millions and millions, like Berman did with Sprewell.

Isola is just angry and bitter as all hell with the entire Knicks organization, starting with Dolan and ending with Roberson. Maybe even the towell boys. Didn't he get banned from the garden or something?

Hughes is trash. Didn't we have another thread going on Hughes I could have sworn I weighed in on Larry Hughes. Think Crawful with a terrible attitude and you get Larry Hughes.

Just say no...unless it's really helping us out in another way.

You don't think he would help short term? I don't want him here for longer than a season and a half, but Larry Hughes is better than Rose and James, plus it opens up a spot for Junior

I agree. To say the least, we improve our defense in the short term. You would like to try and include Jefferies though.
