John Salmons 3yrs $5M per
Brad Miller 2yrs $11M per

for

Malik 1yr $7M
Jefferies 3yrs $6M per
Nate $2M right now, have to think it'll be $6M per by next year

hear me out - it allows us to replace Nate with Salmons, who is putting up better numbers than Nate, albeit quietly. And since we are also losing Jefferies, this trade essentially cleans $6M off the books for 2010 without leaving a gaping hole at guard. Also, Miller is a good passer and mid-range shooter and would be solid in this system, he's an upgrade over Jefferies for the short term.

Why does Sacto do it? it saves them major money on Brad Miller for next season and with Nate gives them potential start power. A Nate Robinson/Kevin Martin backcourt would be hard to deal with. They're already interested in Nate. I believe D'Antoni wanted Salmons a few years back, but at the last minute he went to Sacto instead of Phoenix.

I don't think anyone actually realizes what Nate brings to the table. He is an All-Star if Mo Williams is an All-Star. It's not like he has a tremendous post presence.

He is already one of the most dynamic players in the league at his position given the minutes rbs, pts, stls. He is undersized, but give him a Lebron James as a backcourt mate and watch out.

We should be focusing on moving Gallo/Curry together plus a pick in 2012 or something along those lines. Our team isn't as bad as people think and Nate can carry yes carry an offense. Curry/Gallo/Lee for Aldrige/Bayless or Biedrins/Randolf we should be looking at deals like that or something similiar.

trade duhon now for a pick (even if it's a late one) and use that as another asset to try and move curry and/or jj.

I would do that in a heartbeat. I'm still trying to figure out why the Knicks rejected Brad Miller and Kenny Thomas for Marbury.

ITs a lot of extra money to take on (in terms of luxury tax) for very little gain in terms of tangible results.

Salmons is a different story though- that's an intirguing trade proposal.

Not for guys who are older like that. It would have to be the right deal and that is not the right deal. To me you get those types of players using expiring contracts right now. How could the Knicks trade Nate anyway--it would have to be a special type of deal.

Ill give them Malik Rose and Denver's 2nd rounder for Salmons--saves them 13mm $--that' about fair in this market. Im not gaining anything by trading nate. If I do a deal I want to do so on my terms in this market--thats conceding and giving up a young burgeoning player for guys who will be 30 and 33 this year.

Mikki Moore (expired)
Kenny Thomas (expired)
Kevin Martin (11 million)
Brad Miller (expired)

Nate Robinson (6 million)
Danilo Gallinari (5 million)
Jared Jeffries (6 million)
Stephon Marbury

This deal would save the Knicks 6 million dollars in 2010, it would save the Kings money next season almost 18 million dollars, they would get young assets in Danillo/Nate if they choose to resign him and they can use their draft selection to get a good player. There is no reason to pay martin to be on a terrible team.

Duhon
Martin
Chandler
Lebron
Bosh
Draft pick

You have two above average starters in Martin and Chandler, two guys that fit perfect for Lebron, plus if you keep lee or you can package him with curry if you want to get rid of him this season, retain duhon and add Bosh to the mix as well.

It just goes to show you, that we dont need to pony up our young stars to acquire good talent.

Jefferies can, and should be moved. that Bulls package is trash, but they were able to move them effortlessly.

Stop shortchanging our guys!

Ok, fair enough. How about Miller, Thomas and Moore for Marbury and Jeffries?

That's what I'm talking about. Too bad our GM is asleep at the wheel.

I'd say no and here's why. It does save us about $6m cap space in 2010. But Salmons is having a career year at the age of 30. When we get good, he won't be there. While Nate is not a complete player and has his noticeable weaknesses, he has his great strengths, too. And he's learning to at least have some control over the weaknesses in his game. He plays with a lot of heart and a lot of intensity.
Would anyone do this trade with Sacramento?
