Add in K-Mart and Malik. If they take va-JJ off our hands and we somehow dump Curry, that leaves us with:
Lee- $8m+- (backloaded) Nate- $6m+- (backloaded) Gallinari- $3.3m Wilson- $2.1m Pick 09- $2m Pick 10- $2m K-Mart- $11m
Thats 34.4m in 2010, which leaves us +-$19m to throw at LeBron. Kevin Martin is the second real star, and IMO, that team contends.
Nate/Curry K-Mart/ LeBron/Wilson Gallinari/Derrick Favors Lee/Vet min (Joe Smith or Brad resigns)
The Kings save $59m in that deal, plus they stay under the luxury trax threshold in 09 which saves them another $16m. $75m savings is nothing to sneeze at, especially in todays economy.
Of course, we still need to dump Curry, but this way, we get our team ready for 2010, and even if we have to settle for a second tier star, we may not be contending, but we still have a team that makes the playoffs year in year out.
Some men see things as they are and ask why. I dream things that never were and ask why not?
