From Chad Ford Article:
"If you asked owners in the league who they'd rather have right now, LaFrentz or Stoudemire, I think more than half of them would prefer LaFrentz," one executive told me. "That's how screwed up this thing has been. I guarantee you [Blazers GM] Kevin Pritchard has gotten better offers for LaFrentz than the Suns have gotten for Stoudemire."

...now tell me that we can't get back major value for Marbs, Rose, Lee and Robinson

...nah, let's wait until LeBron flips us the bird in 2010. That will be great.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

I'm pretty sure I read the best offer the Blazers have gotten for Lafrentz is Ridnour and Jefferson. I don't know about you but I'm not blowing my chance at cap flexibility for Richard Jefferson.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

They're looking at offers for Jefferson, G Wallace, and Caron Butler.

If we added Caron Butler and Gerald Wallace to this team, I think you'd have a nice mix and Butler's deal only goes through 2011.

Typically, I would agree with the notion that we should just use our chips now to improve this team instead of waiting till 2010. After all, in a bad economy like this, you would think that the Knicks should be able to take advantage.

However, look at what is available. The best player available is Amare and the Suns refuse to trade him to us since D'Antoni is our coach.

What else is out there that would make it a good idea to sacrifice the future for now? There are some decent players left but nothing that will help turn this franchise around. Instead, what Walsh should do, is use our financial resources to better our situation while still keeping an eye on that 2010 FA class. Trades like Malik Rose for Watson and a pick are the type of moves we should be looking at right now.

Even if you take the stance that we're going to take contracts ending in 2011, when Curry and Jeffries end as well...

LeBron and the rest is a pipe-dream, and the sooner we realize that the better.

Take a look at that 2010 FA class.

If we have money to spend, we are almost guaranteed to do well.

It is not just the LeBron sweepstakes. Other all-stars that will be in that class include Amare, Wade, Bosh, Joe Johnson, Dirk, Yao, Nash, etc. We are talking about a stacked FA class. I'm not convinced that we will end up with LeBron in 2010 but I am convinced that we can improve our team greatly if we make sure that we have money to spend that offseason.
