I don't think the Knicks can offer a trade to get Amare with the teams' given talent. I do think the Suns wouldn't consider any offers without David Lee.

So, that got me thinking. I have no idea if I like this trade or not. But here's what I was thinking:

Marbury and Rose offer $28.45 million in savings. Lee makes $1.8 million. Anthony Roberson gets thrown in as a corpse.

You sum all that up, and add an additional 25%, the Knicks can take back a little over $38 million in salary.

So, you assume they want to dump Shaq too. Amare + Shaq + Tucker + Dudley = $37.3 million

This deal is one made to appeal to SArver, not Ker, not the Phoenix fans. And I'm not sure if it's necessarily worth it from the Knicks perspective either... but I'm bored and it's the best package for Amare I can come up with

You might be able to trade Shaq next season for an expiring/young talent/first rd draft pick. He still has value, and as an expiring next year, could bring back a good return

The Suns are not trading with us period. Fans are mad enough they let D'Antoni walk. Do you really think they will want to make it worse by reuniting D'Antoni with one or two of his former players?

Exactly...

... and to answer tkf's question, this isn't about obtaining the Suns frontcourt. It's a plan to get Amare in NY now, as opposed to 2010, while giving up "only" David Lee and keeping hte majority of the remaining 2010 cap space intact.

How many picks has Sarver sold? I don't knwo if I like the idea of making Amare a building block, but Sarver is c. h. e. a. p. He does stuff to spite his fans all the time. And this was the best idea I could come up with to save him money.

This idea might suck, it might not, I don't know. Y'all can decide. i was just thinking if Raef AlFrentz's contract is really all that valuable, and Sarver is cheap, and the Knicks can bail him out financially, and if D'Antoni and Walsh want to build around Amare, maybe there's a match.
