He's 6-6 280 and not fat. He reminds me a lot of Elton Brand with a little less athletic ability. He cant block shots like Brand but he can do everything else. This is NO Mike Sweetney or Tractor Traylor--this guy is a warrior. This is a 90's type Knick player. I know the dreaded undersized PF usually is a bust in the NBA but this guy is on a whole different planet. He is just 280 with no weight problem and oooooozes toughness. He is one tough SOB who can play basketball.

Agreed. he is kind of a throw-back player in a lot of ways. Tonight was a test for him and he passed with flying colors. His stock, which was pretty high already, had to have gone up a notch or two after what he did against Thabeet.

I'd be more interested if we didn't already have fifty forwards all of whom need playing time.

We already have a great PF. I think some other team in the top 15 will jump on him.

I like D Lee but he ain't blocking no 7'3 centers in my lifetime. It's just not in him.

when Spoon came into the league many thought he would be the next Barkley, and he had some strong (losing) seasons. Seen a lot of undersized guys have great stretches and play their way into good contracts. Malik Rose, Brian Cardinal, Spoon.. maybe Maxiell is next, I am sure there are others.

Show me one winning team the relies on a guy that undersized at any position.

Now if your talking about picking up a late first round pick and getting a workhorse those guys can make great bench players. I think we should still be looking at building block type players and a 6'7 PF who plays a power game isnt where I am looking

I like his tenacity and toughness, but these undersized guys rarely make it in the NBA unless we are talking about the very rare freaks of nature like Barkley and Larry Johnson.

We have seen many undersized forwards dominate college baskeball with brute strength, Jerome Lane, Dnny Fortson, Brian Shorter, Spoon, etc, just to name a few and none of these guys had much of an impact in the NBA. Ths odds are against him.

It was impressive to see him score over Thabeet, but the strength difference there is obvious, and it might have also caught Thabeet by surprise, taking him out psychologically.

Hard to see if that would fly in the NBA.

Looking at his highlights, he is very similar to Anthony Mason in the post. He looks like he just man handles everybody. I think this type of player can play for a long time assuming he controls his weight. I would only select him as high as the late teens. He would be a bad fit for D'Antoni.

Blair reminds me of Anthony Mason, including the nasty disposition.

Mason had guard like handle though right? Didn't Nelly try to make him the point-forward for a while?
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

JMHO---Blair mentally and physically is a warrior. I think he is much more Elton Brand than Tractor Traylor. He doesnt have the same athletic ability as Brand and that certainly counts but this guy is going to get it done in a big way in the NBA. He has a unique body in that he is not fat yet weighs 285 pounds. He's like having an NFL lineman on your team who can really play basketball. This guy is going to get picked higher than what some of the mock drafts say. After 4-5 he could be drafted anytime from 6-15--but he wont last past 13. Teams won't bypass that. Looks at NBA history in the draft and this guy is tough. This is not some guy who is going to balloon to 330. I read all about his training--this is not a pizza eating player who happens to be good.

True. I am talking more about his forays in the paint. Mason would also just man handle opposing players in the post.

To me he's a shorter version of Charles Oakley minus the perimeter touch Oak managed to come up with late in his career but with better post offense.
