I read this in its entirety after my cousin facebooked it. I LOVE IT.

ok i am warming up to the tmac trade scenario.........but not because of him........because of Battier

I would be open to....
Tmac + Battier + Artest for....
Steph + 2 out of (Harrington, Jeffries, Tim Thomas, Malik Rose) whatever Houston wants.

Or.....TMac + Artest for....
Steph + Malik

or....TMac + Battier
for Steph + Jeffries/TT/Malik
Nixluva is posting triangle screen grabs, even when nobody asks - Fishmike. LOL So are we going to reference that thread like the bible now? "The thread of Wroten Page 14 post 9" - EnySpree

Battier the opposite of Lee?

I always like Battier, and it was that kind of player that Isiah was trying to get when he maxed out Jeffries.

Is there some reason Houston would give up either player, especially Battier, for our garbage?

Very good article. Michael Lewis is my favorite writer and he didn't disappoint here.

For those that haven't read Moneyball, it really is a must read (although I guess you could wait for the movie with Brad Pitt to come out lol).

Michael Lewis writes some of the best articles about sports because he approaches viewing the game as a financial analyst rather than as a sports writer. I recommend "The Blind Side", a thorough analysis of Left Tackles. "Moneyball" was so revolutionary that when I recently re-read it, it was very boring because the ideas have been accepted as common place.

I hope someone in the Knicks front office reads this article. 1) so they can gain more insight into the Houston Rockets are won and 2) Donny Walsh comes off as a good ole boy who might not be at the cutting edge of statistical analysis and this article might spark some intellectual curiosity.

Good call on The Blind Side. That was a very good book and the left tackle that was featured prominently in that book (Michael Oher) is going to be a top 10 pick in this year's NFL draft.

Another great book by Lewis was Liar's Poker (didn't really have anything to do with sports though).

Liars Poker should be required reading for anyone who wants to understand the culture on Wall Street that led to the current economic collapse. Lewis had an amazing article on the financial crisis in the NY Times recently:
