This seems as good a place as any to post trade ideas... would you guys do:

Lee
Chandler
Curry
and maybe our 2012 pick (top 10 protected)

for

Beasley
Haslem
Cook

We would be all out of sorts for the balance of the year...

Duhon/Robinson
Cook/Qrich/Roberson
Gallo/Harrington
Beasley/Thomas
Haslem/Jeffries/Rose
xMarbs/xMobley/xJames

I don't think the Heat would take a guy like Curry (maybe for any amount at this point), that's why I think we need to throw in the draft pick...
You know I gonna spin wit it

No team in the NBA is taking Curry. It's not even worth it--you have to ask first from the other teams' perspective--would you take on how much salary for Cyrru and take yourself out of 2010? The answer will be no 29 times. If you want to get rid of Curry--win the lottery and attach the pick.

The Heat, Grizzlies and Suns are reportedly discussing a three-team trade that would send Amare Stoudemire to Miami, Michael Beasley to Memphis and both Rudy Gay and Shawn Marion to Phoenix.

Heat just traded Marion for Jermaine O'Neal. So scotch that threeway.

Good trade for the Raps IMO. JO was crap for them overall so if they lost Marion for nothing over the summer it's not a big deal there - yet if he works out they re-sign him and maybe convince Bosh they're trying to build a winner.

Retarded trade for Miami why add another year of salary? Especially a broken down player like JO. Only Isiah plays that "Wait, I can't trade my expiring this year for anything I want? Okay, I'll trade it for an expiring next year so I can then try again to trade that one!"

yeah, I don't understand this trade from the Heat side.

I think Marion was truly hated by the coaching staff and the desire to give Beasley more minutes make sense.

reminds me of what you guys said about Zach... we should trade down from 6 to 20 to move him, or just give up the pick all together. Once Curry can get on the floor he can be traded. JJ also. We are just used to taking on the crappy trades but they are out there.

I think Lee, JJ and Duhon go and I think we get a big, a pick and a guard back in some combo

actually it was moving down from 6 to 16 to move Zach that was the argument last year fish... & we still could have ended up with a prospect like Javale McGee, JJ Hickson, Darrell Arthur, Marresse Speights, Kosta Koufos, Courtney Lee, DeAndre Jordan, etc... not sure what you're trying to argue here but it still would have been a reasonable gamble to take to dump Zach's contract before this season started.

not to me. I dont think its reasonable to give up good talent and players and draft position just to get rid of a guy that happens to be very productive.

Now Curry isnt productive but he has been and can be again. A lot of the same guys that wanted Zach gone for nothing and trading down to do it are now saying we didnt get enough back.

Trading Curry now is a panic move and doesnt make sense. Get him playing and then move him. If its next year so be it.

Will Curry ever play again? He's halfway through a second season of irrelevance and inactivity.

i wasn't even speaking to trading Curry... IMO that's an entirely different situation because he's not even a productive player at this point... we won't be able to trade him anyways even if we wanted to until he becomes a productive player again.

If it were the healthy Indy JO of a beast? Good trade. Yet, it's not, so it's a head scratcher.

Yet, some say it was good because they got out from Banks' ~5M 2011 salary (don't see how that's a problem for a team who would only have him on the books then) --- and I guess some thought is Miami wouldn't re-sign Marion but didn't want to lose him for nothing (yet this is like the Isiah idea of, well, I can't lose THIS expiring so I will trade it for a 'next year' expiring that I then have another chance to trade for something I might want).

Toronto: Bosh-Bargs-Marion (Okay, so Bargs who is starting to play well, can start wheras JO was injured and just not really fitting in, makes sense)
Miami: JO-Haslem-Beasley (Okay, it kinda makes sense, but ONLY if JO is healthy, otherwise they just decided to fork over another 20M+ to JO for an extra year for no reason at all. Maybe they're a charitable team or something.)

With what 10 weeks left in the season it makes about as much sense to move a "malcontent marion" as it does for the Knicks to now buy out Marbury and claim it would be good for team morale.

With Marion did Beasley not play anyway at SF or PF? With JO wouldnt Beasley not play an equal amount at I guess SF now and backup PF? I don't see the difference. At least not a big one.

I think Miami was scared to lose Marion for nothing and did not want to pay to retain him so they did an Isiah and recycled the expiring - into an expiring for another day (next year) to give them options on the trade front. Isiah did it (AD for Jalen+the pick that was Balkman) but then had the purse strings closed by Dolan (otherwise Rose and Taylor WOULD have been dealt not bought out).

The Heat get a first round pick too. First round pick, minus Banks contract and they got to gamble on JO who doesn't play the same position of their number 2 pick. I don't think the reasoning behind this trade is that hard to accept.

I thought the Heat won the trade... I'd rather Moon than Banks, and the Heat can Neasley do his thing instead of worrying about how he'd mesh with Marion. Plus, if they can keep JO fresh, come the post season they'll have tremendous balance.

The Suns just signed Courtney Sims to a 10-day contract. 6'11", 240 lb. finesse PF/C was putting up great numbers in the D-League and at first seemed like an intriguing option for the Knicks (over 22 ppg, over 11 rbg) but after watching quite a few archived Iowa games on the NBDL's web site, I don't see him ever dominating like that in the NBA. Still, he's big and has got some ability --- I wonder if this was a move Phoenix made knowing other moves are coming? Maybe Stoudemire's really gonna get moved here in that Portland deal. Maybe that deal's not as dead as we thought...
