I cant believe the audacity of this article by Marc Berman in the New York Post. I am officially done with the New York Post. Alan Hahn is by far a superior writer and gets it. Berman would always talk about how the chemistry wasnt good with Randolph on the knicks. They signed him to a crazy contract with no proven leadership or winning experience. Now that Randolph has his usual double double and a win against the knicks according to him management are fools for letting him go. Screw that! It was the right move. I couldnt imagine keeping that garbage player on until 2012. With Randolph gone look at what David Lee has flourished into.

Im so irritated by that article. I cant stand it and will never read Marc Berman again.

Homeboy is averaging 23 a game...he has a right to wolf. Trust me, I understand completely Walsh's [Clyde] motivation and justification [/Clyde] for the deal, but damn, all we could get for a low post stud is Tim Thomas?

I blame the Ultimate Knicks mentality. People get too carried away with devaluing our own players and exalting virtually everyone else that wears a different colored jersey.

We could have at least got a pick, or a mid-level prospect. At least.

when it was evident that Mobley wouldn't play- and that was after he failed the physical- we should have either pulled collins or asked for much more in terms of a pick.

I'm not sure Walsh could have gotten more, and he might have jumped at the first offer he got. I can't fault him, as I am not sure any other offers would have surfaced.

That's the worst 23 PPG the NBA has ever seen.

No thanks, Zach.

Please. The point of getting rid of Randolph was to get rid of a bad player and open up the space for 2010. Walsh Im sure wishes that he could have gotten more back, but Im sure the Clippers would have pulled out so he went ahead anyway. It is clear this is a move for 2010. I just hope we can get the players we need to build something for the future. Without that felxibility we wouldnt see a contending knicks team for another 5 years. Its the move that had to be made. PLEASE DONT TELL ME RANDOLPH IS A GOOD PLAYER AND WE WISH WE HAD HIM. HES GARBAGE AND IM HAPPY WE DONT HAVE HIM.

This year is all about the growing pains and making strides for a bright future.

You dont know that. If we tell the clips to piss off and let Zach ball out of control, then magically his value goes up.

We at least give the Blazers Frye, who had mild potential.

Randolph wasn't a bad player, his contract got him traded.

Now all we have to do is sit back and wait for the superstars to fall in Donnie's lap.

23 pts. a game put the preponderance of evidence in my favor. Plus, he isnt acting up any more. Face it, we probably jumped the gun.

Add the fact that he was injured and has a contract with $17+M on it puts it back in my favor. Name the teams that have expiring contracts before 2010 and would be willing to take Zach's back? It's not a sellers market.

I have consistently said that we got the worse of the Randolph deal and should have at least demanded a pick or D. Jordan. The Clippers had just lost Brand and Randolph was not making much more than Brand, so it was not like the Clippers were not used to paying that type of money for an all-star caliber PF. We got hosed and it is looking like we got hosed on the 6th pick too because just about ever other player in the top-10 is looking better than D.G.
Trust the Process

Well, we all knew at the time (I think) that trading Randolph and Crawford would make the team worse - the Knicks were not doing that badly at the time, as I recall. I don't think the trade was done to bring in better talent or even better citizens. I thought it all had to do with 2010.

Now, I guess we could argue the merits of the whole 2010 plan, but at least it is a plan, and we should keep it in mind when evaluating Walsh's moves.

So let me get your logic straight. Your saying that by knowingly making the team worse we will look better in the eyes of the free agents we are trying to attract? My next question, WHAT THE HELL WORLD YOU LIVE IN MAN??

Yeah, Zach has impacted the 13-40 Clippers so much. So many people were after him when we traded him for garbage. We should have tried to get Eric Gordon from the Clippers for superstar Zach. Zach Randolph - the Ricky Davis of PF's. Antoine Walker with better rebounding. Zach Randolph no longer plays on this team so do yourselves a favor and move on. What's done is done.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.
