with the number of knee tears...not just sprains but tears in recent history...does the nba owe it to the players to start investigating how kids are trained, used, and played from as early as high school?

there are just too many long term injuries going on these days.

btw, i saw the play. it wasn't anything crazy either. he just landed and his knee sort of buckled but didn't bend in some terribly extreme manner. but you knew it was torn as soon as he landed and started screaming.

I saw it too- nothing exceptional- just a big man landing a bit awkwardly.

I was watching that game when it happened. Came down on 1 leg and it buckled.. he always seemed to be landing awkwardly.. too bad... he was having a great year..

The good thing is he plays below the rim anyway so hopefully he's able to recover quickly and regain his allstar form.

Well Top 5 lottery again for the Wolves. They better strike gold with this draft because they owe the Clippers, they are lurking when in 2011 their first rounder is unprotected.

Big Al will recover, he'll have almost 3 weather seasons to get well.

Ah man...ACL's suck...he has nothin but time and money so he'll be back and probably better than before in less than a year. freakin guy might even be ready by the start of next season.
