On the LA-Cle broadcast, JVG & Mark Jax commented on how Lee and Al responded to an 0-3 "Dream Week."

Pretty much JVG ripped Lee for saying that it wasn't bad to go 0-3 (it was "good losses") and he cannot imagine how any pro bball player can accept going 0-3. He said Lee has had plenty of opportunities to have a good 0-3 as a Knick and he is sure Knicks management cannot be happy with that kind of loser-talk.

Mark Jax chimed in saying that Al was okay with the losses because he put up good #'s during them.

IMO, the team really set themselves up for this because 24/7 the clips of the games with the Lakers and Cavs have been on...they shouldnt have called it Dream Week...certainly, no business doing it and in effect, making the team look silly, esp if they lost all 3, which they did.

We have a "cute little team" as perceived by the fans. By the larger contingent, maybe we look better in losses but they are still losses.

They weren't just good losses. They were excellent losses.

What should David say? Curse, snatch the mike from the reporter and throw it and then challenge the camera man to a fight?
O
I'm cool with what he said. He's not really at liberty to spazz out. So JVG and Jax need to relax. Their days are done. I'm sure in house they go nuts....its funny cuz both of these jokers used to give humble answers to the press....what should they do? Call players out like Duhon did?......anybody notice how Duhon hasn't done that again? In house.....

Lee has never played for a coach like JVG who is all about winning and is so driven by it that he doesn't sleep. He has never played with great veterans like Ewing, Jackson, Oakley etc. who also are about winning. Lee is a class act and a young veteran but he has never been around winning as a pro. Up until this year Lee has seen nothing but dysfunction and losing.

This reminds me of that scene in "Meet The Fockers" where Ben Stillers parents have created a shrine to Ben's sporting career.

Robert DeNiro looks at it and says "I didn't know they made ninth-place ribbons"

That cracked me up.

JVG enjoys taking shots at the Knicks because of old grudges. You can now add Mark to the list of MSG haters because of you know what. He has been knocking D'Antoni all season.

He's still upset about his Honda Civic.

You guys sound like lee and al, like your cool with hering BS statements like that. Lee and al are good solid players, but after hering those silly statements I was equally disturb about them. You dont here stuff like that from all stars. WTF is a feel good loss, was last night a feel good loss, we have loss so much that close losses instead of blow outs makes it better.

Someone explain to me what the heck was up with that game last night. MDA will get much of the heat for this one, the galli move was ridiculous, and the last minute and a half was the worst coaching decision I have seen since DON CHANEY put ward in to guard Jermaine O neal with 4 seconds to go up by 2. David(feel good loss)LEE didn't even put a hand up on the previous possesion when outlaw bangs in a mid range jumper on an inbound pass that took less then 1 second.

The one thing losing teams all have in common, they can't finish or defend in the final 2 miutes with any regularity.

We put our own players under microscopes that we don't follow the other players.

This team core is the same from last year and they play far more competitive than they did under Isiah.

They are learning not to get blown out. They are learning to stay competitive.

They still need to learn how to win. We have no go to guy quite yet, so its tough.

Harrington is a gun for hire, and Lee sounds like the coach told them what was positive to keep their self esteem up during a tough stretch.

JVG and Jax while both have cred, are entertainers at this point. They gotta say somthing. If we talking about it, then they are effective.

There was nothing feel good about the past week. All of the Knicks said the moral victories were done for after the loss to the Lakers in LA. Now they are talking about that again. They are taking baby steps, but damn, how long does it take to make these guys starving to win?

It really isn't so much a go to guy, but the lack of a leader on either side of the court. We dont have a go to guy on defense or offense. Funny thing is I watch that play last night about 7 times, and jj had more then enough time to recover from the screen.

The only thing last week's games showed was how far the Knicks have to go before they smell success.

Thanks for the common sense.

We won 23 games last year, half way through the season things have progressed, but we are still a bad team. That's to be expected when you rebuild. The good news is we have cap space and some of our players are improving. Not sure what more we expected. It takes a long time to get rid of the stink of losing. Especially when you are one of the most embarrassing units in NBA history.

i think the argument is not whether or not they are a bad team. the argument is to say that this was a moral victory. in professional sports, you just don't do that. i agree that it is a process and they did exactly what we thought they were going to do. however, just because it was close, they were still embarassed this week with two players putting up phenomonal numbers against them. no matter how close they were, no one remembers that. they remember the outstanding preformances and the l's. what should have lee said? he should have said that these are disappointed losses and we should have won. we still have a long way to go but we will get there. simple as that. not this little league moral crap he was spouting. he should have been equally boiling after the constant espn drivel they showed featuring the kobe/lebron msg show. it is their house. you don't let anyone else come in and do that and be delighted about it. come on.

I agree with the criticisms 110%. Losing should never be acceptable in a winning culture... to justify losses is the mindset of a loser

Of course losing isnt' acceptable. Of course these guys sound like idiots when they make comments like this. But that has been the culture here for years now and it's going to take a while to eradicate that. These guys have lost their entire careers and don't know better. You need to have a few proven winners before stuff like this starts to disappear.

Moral victories are bunk...when you're a good team.

But when you're a 23 win team that's been the laughingstock of the league for 3-4 years running, I don't think its so terrible to indicate where you see improvements and that you are encouraged by good play even if it falls short against obviously superior teams.
