Can't blame him, that dunk was nasty. I went to Gus' level at home. Everyone's reaction was at Gus' level. Duhon and Nate's were the best.

There are certain moments you can be enthusiastic like that. That was one of them. Gus does that on layups.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

How much of a ball hog is Harrington watch as he ask for the ball as Chandler is driving to the basket. Man that is bad.

Could The Mayor's spicy dunk rank as the single most electric (positive) moment of the Knicks season so far?

Chandler also ignited the team..and D'Antoni. I like that. The entire team is playing hard, motivated, excited and tryying to win. Not like the last few years where the team would give up.

Posted by misterearl: He also never had ridicouls dunks like that, Clyde was a smooth ass player with an extreme high IQ. HE had some pretty niffty moves, but never was a high flying athletic freak. For a person that plays with that kinda of energy it's just suprising to see him so calm I mean he doesn't even clap. ES

The Riddle Of The Sphinx
knicks1248 - you have touched on an interesting angle. Fans have been conditioned to associate so-called "athletic" plays like dunks with showmanship. The more cerebral plays, like the simple execution of a mid-range bank shot, is more the domain of a passionless type like Tim Duncan. Kareem made the sky hook as a matter of routine. But a dunk? A dunk is where players are EXPECTED to pound their chests and "pimp" their jerseys to the home crowd. You preen after a dunk and high five eveyone in sight in between chest bumps. But where is it written that behavior is mandatory? The Mayor is an anathema. A contradiction. A Sphinx. He will dunk in your mug with the detached precision of a surgeon and simply walk cooly to the foul line for the free throw. Wilson Chandler is not the stereotypical, (egocentric), "...high flying athletic freak". I have no problem with that. [Edited by - misterearl on 02-07-2009 9:55 PM] once a knick always a knick

Posted by Pharzeone:Posted by knicks1248:Posted by martin:Posted by misterearl: that's exactly how i would hope for him to react... i hate it when Nate celebrates every single dunk like he just won a damn NBA finals game w/it, meanwhile the team is losing by 20... that stuff is so unnecessary... Kendrick Perkins knows he just got posterized on that dunk, no need for Wilson to get in his face about it. After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

Gotta love the Mayor. I don't think he'll ever be a star, but he's becoming a very good player for the Knicks.

Posted by Ira:I agree. Chandler is still young, growing and learning and will be a very solid starting player for the Knicks. On the play, I give some props to Duhon who makes a quick punch pass to Chandler. It threw KG way out of balance and Chandler took advantage of it. This highlight shows the beginning of the play. Vote Early and Often
Ira - what's no to love? The tats are a bit overboard but hey, nobody's perfect The pro sportsmanship manual cites (on page 2) that a professional should never provoke, demean, bite, diss, kick, tease, taunt, bait, or clown an opponent. A professional does nut grin, shuck, jive, mug, preen, ogle courtside babes, or check himself in a video replay on the overhead scoreboard. A professional should never instigate, irritate, shimmy-shake or otherwise act in an immature or classless manner. A professional never talks about an opponents sister or momma. A professional gives the maximum effort at all times, listens to his coach, works on his weaknesses and even plays despite pain. Period. The Mayor comes to practice early and stays late. I'm cool with that. With his focused work ethic, and youthful exploration, where is it written he cannot grow into becoming a star? Are you not entertained?
