Nevertheless, after GM Scott Layden added much-needed size in the offseason, the Knicks are No. 1 in the league in defensive field-goal percentage, holding teams to 34.2 percent. Don Chaney's Knicks are just slightly ahead of Jeff Van Gundy's Rockets (34.7). The Knicks are third in points allowed (79.7) but that's skewed because one game went overtime. They blocked 10 shots Monday, surpassing their season high last season of nine.

Didn't somebody named Gony say under VANDUMMY LEADERSHIP the knicks were better defensively? STATS DON'T LIE!

Yeah....and KVH was leading the league in scoring after 1 freaking game. Playa give it a rest with your silly comparisons 3 games into the season.

Well, well, trash talking after 3 games! I know the Rockets will still be there leading the league in D in the end. What about NY? The Rockets are 3-1, what about NY? The Rockets stomped the NEts in NJ, last night.

Let's not make this a comparison of NY and Houston.

I was waiting for someone to come here today without putting an asterick next to the game last night between Houston + NETS. Even Vandummy admitted that key players weren't there for the NETS( ROGERS,HARRIS+K-MART) and he didn't try to comapre his healthy team against a banged up Nets TEAM. I watched the game and Houston played really well as a team. YAO MING wasn't that much of a factor and the Houston guards ran the show. Funny how Gundy wants the offense to go thru YAO, but last night with Francis+ MOBLEY's style of PLAY, run pass and shoot they outlasted the Nets. LOL VANGUNDY SHUT UP AND GO FOR THE RIDE.

Gony stop tripping , the problem was strategy last night!
We had THE BUCKS IN CHECK AND IF YOU ARE HONEST YOU KNOW IT.


Chaney changed the defensive strategy to go up against a smaller lineup, which is why he played Mutombo only 4 minutes in the third quarter, 15 total. "We cannot just play the team because they are small, we have to go big and take advantage of it," Mutombo said. He saw a possible reason for the strong first half and the struggle in the second: "I was on the bench."

i agree, chaney IS the problem. The talent is there to win 40 games. deke can anchor the zone still. ny needs to play it now!
