He has absolutely no definition in his arms and his torso just looks like flab. If he does lift, I highly doubt he takes it seriously. Any joe shmoe would show some tone if they'd be lifting for even a couple of months. Let alone the years David's been in the NBA.

I'd say lifting would help his defense and rebounding game immensely. And it's not like he really has to worry about losing that midrange jumper.

Do you want him at 265 with no lift and nor running the floor or 245 with serious hops and running the floor the whole game? The dont want him as a banger they want him quick

Its still a good question....what does he do to stay in shape/improve his body? Lots of plyometrics, cardio and calisthenics?

we just need him to recognize when to rotate on the weak side more effectively. not weight lift.

It cracks me up you always gripe about Lee defense. We just got 61 and 50 dropped on us by guards and you want Lee to block shots and foul out in the first half. How about we gripe about our guards not being able to stay in front of anyone on this team. I dont Lee works on his body at all during the season I think drinking beer and eating burgers is what he does. He has lost 20 lbs since the season has started so I assume he is doing something to stay in shape

we were talking about Lee in this thread, not the guards.

The league has changed since the 80's & 90's, and since there is no hand-checking or grabbing, most guards or SFs with any kind of speed will always be able to blow by their guy, same in a pick-n-roll situation.

I don't mean to suggest that Lee foul out during the first half or that our guards are doing a good job staying in front of their man. But we all have seen instances where Lee watches a guy make a layup without trying to play defense. Same with Harrington and some others. No need to be overly sensitive here, it's just an observation.

You don't deny that a weak part of Lee's game is help side D, right?

Lee guards bigger and stronger players, rebounds like a beast, and turned his size disadvantage into an asset on offense... don't really care about his arm definition

DLee never puts his hands up to contest a jump shot. That is my only gripe with him. I did notice that he has no muscle defintion in his arms, but then I say..So What? He is not a bodybuilder. He is strong enough to box out and get rebounds so why would we want him to change his physique?

DLee not contesting shots though has a lot to do with him wanting to get the rebound instead. If you try to block a shot then you are not in position to get the rebound.

I like DLee. I think he is very comparable to Boozer now in effectiveness.

Well players always say they tend to lose tons of weight during the season, which is understandable since they play ball at a high level for 30 plus minutes over the course of 2hrs....well now that I type that it doesn't really seem that bad.

He's gott do something. I'm really curious to know what he does during the off-season to improve his body. He definately doesnt have muscle tone but he is a little thicker since he was drafted...like 15 lbs or so.

Tim Duncan has no muscle tone either. You don't have to be ripped to be a good NBA PF.

bring back Mason!
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

You don't think he puts his hands up now? You should have seen him when he first came in the league. It was frustrating, but I guess that's what happens when you watch Marbury and Crawford all of the time. I bet playing behind Kurt Thomas would have helped Lee A TON.

He does contest a lot more though now. His D' is improving, but still not that great.

His upper body strength is well below average for a guy his size. Given the success of the Knicks trainers with Gallinari, however, not working out just might be addition by subtraction for Lee.
