He's very athletic and would do wonders for our interior D
He's got cool hair

He runs, blocks shots, rebounds and doesn't want the ball on offense.

And he's a garbage player............. No thanks to Heroinderson.

We're onto bigger and better things than TRASH like that.

How much longer before he's caught choking a hooker to death while high on smack?

Yeah he sounds just like Jefferies

Chris Andersen is leading the league in shot blocking per 48 minutes--avg over 2 blocked shots per game in a 19 minute average. he is among the top of the league in rebounds per minute he's averaging 6.5 points shooting a staggering 58%.

I don't know the inner workings of the Knicks--if they are about to take on 20 mm in salary for next year to get a C[which by the way could drastically change chemistry] or if they are willing to unleash a full or partial MLE that runs not only in to 2010 but 2011 etc.. I don't know that. I do know you win games by deifferential--our differential is not bad. Replacing Jefferies with such an effiecnt player who impacts games on the defense--who could change our last placed shot blocking differential to the positive side without having a big effect on the team chemistry[he doesnt need the ball to be effective] If you can get this player for the LLE 2 years 3.2mm that is a lot of bang for your buck without changing salary structure. In terms of his problem---wasnt the owner of the Knicks a drunk? The Birdman looks and acts a lot like a guy who is on the straight path and the cost of bringing him in is neglible. He was given a chance this year by Denver and he has succeeded---he's not a three times and your out guy--he had one problem and paid his price. I don't see what is out there that fits what we need i.e---cheap with contract that does not effect 2010 much better than Andersen short term. The guy ranks up with the most efficient players in the NBA and fits in well with a fast-paced game.

Which differential are you talking about? Points, boards or blocks? Because the last two are horrible, and you're right, adding someone like Anderson would pretty much instantly start to improve those problems.

And I don't see him as having a problem meshing with this offense.

However, I doubt he leaves, and I doubt he comes to us.

From your thread title, I was expecting to see you talk up some college kid (besides Thabeet).

I know the chances of us winning a top three pick are extremely remote, especially after Chicago beat the odds last year, but a person can dream, I guess

I hear you Briggs. He would play for a one year deal, so he's probably the right guy to look at.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

You will never get his value elsewhere at minimal cost on basically your terms. A two year LLE would put you in the ball park. He's unrestricted proven and available. I don't know if we end up taking on a huge salary --i.e Brad Miller O"neal etc.. but Andersen would be a huge upgrade over Jefferies. He's taller than Lee with even stronger bounce to his legs.

Steven Hunter is a similar player, but he probably has more injury problems.

We won't have to worry about people scoring 50 on us if we have a real shotblocker down low.

Like his energy but don't want to overpay for a guy that isn't the answer and will likely dissapoint us at the offensive end.

I particularly DON'T like to invest in guys with drugs in their past. These things have a way of happening again with long suspensions to follow.

If he will go and make a nice conservative haircut or shave it, we can take a chance.

He was awesome tonight. We have - two point differential in scoring average. If you replace with Jefferies with Andersen that goes + 2-3 points to the Knicks. I listened to Donnie on WFAN and every time he talks he mentions shot blocker. In terms of vet--Andersen would be the best value by a long shot. Wont help this year but unless they pick up some prime time help the best this team will do is back into playoffs with 35 wins if the other teams fail[which could happen]
But next year he can be had on the cheap. Having a guy who can dominate defensively in the paint for 24 minutes is an impact.

G must stand for goofy

Entering Wednesday, he was fourth in the NBA with 2.05 blocks per game, but his numbers are soaring — eight swats in the previous two games, four each night.
Andersen shows off his flamboyant side with colorful tattoos and a rooster's comb spiked 'do. ( Hyoung Chang, The Denver Post )

"He's a committed shot blocker," Nuggets coach George Karl said. "He likes attacking the ball, and per minute, he's as good as anyone in basketball. Would he be able to continue that if you played him longer minutes? I'm not sure he would, but he would have games that would be spectacular."
