Its so important to have some very good players on our roster cause frankly, like i have been saying forever, we will need to sign and trade to get any so call superstar to leave a team. So in a way, signing Nate and Lee to some decent size contracts that will be able to trade will be the only way we land any of the top 5 FA in 2k10. We maybe be able to sign a joe johnson or a borderline (Think LJ H20) superstar. That article explains everything, Were living a pipe dream. ES

Posted by knicks1248: Everyone wants to play with perennial superstar and winner Zach Randolph. Thank you, Rick Brunson.

Posted by GKFv2:Posted by knicks1248: [sarc] You don't think the Cavs would trade Lebron for Randolph? [/sarc] Anyway, just to throw away the concept of keeping Zach "They Scared Now" Randolph, ... contracts don't need to match to do a sign and trade when you are under the cap. We could offer the Cavs draft picks to make them work with us, and not dump bad contracts on them. But without capspace, there is no reason for the Cavs to take us seriously. They need to feel pressure that if they do not trade LBJ to us, he may choose to take the non-bird rights contract. Second, for those who are calculating the cost difference in a birdrights vs a qualifying FA contract with 7yrs experience, we can simply give LBJ an option year after the fourth year. At that point he could opt out and resign a Bird-Rights Max or whatever crazy amount of dollars are available under the new collective bargaining agreement, or another max contract with a different team at the 10 years+ max (35% of the cap). Coming to NY is not going to be about the Dollars, they can be worked out.
