Depending on who's drafting. Imagine if we could switch Jefferies with Thabeet?

This is from ESPN

Thabeet's defensive presence dictated play, as the 7-foot-3 center blocked four shots and had Louisville shooting floaters and hook shots instead of taking it to the rim. According to video research done by ESPN's Stats & Analysis Team, not a single Louisville player scored on Thabeet when he was the primary defender. Oh, by the way, he also contributed 14 points and 11 rebounds.

Oh wait we don't try to stop people we try to out score them

If you know that then stop creating these threads every other day on how we should draft Thabeet.

Yep. And while you're at it stop treating Thabeet like some sort of God. Truth is he isn't and he would be terrible for this system because he moves like a snail.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

Is this draft Fluid or not? Are we making projections in February or should we wait until the first week in June to hon in on the talent?

Bump this thread since you're still up posting.

I believe the draft will be fluid because its weak with very few suret things, there's bound to be a player moving up on the back of some good performances.

That said this draft is nowhere near the one that yielded K-Mart. That was ONE weak draft

I just wonder what this team would be if we swapped Thabeet for Jefferies. Thabeet is no snail--he has incredible stamina and plays 40 minutes in a fast breaking system. He's no Bynum but I have to wonder just how badly we could use him for what he does and what we need.

Since when is injury prone Bynum the Draft Gold Standard? Can you even converse about drafts without mentioning Bynum?

Briggs- I think you should rephrase the above to:

Oh wait we trying to win 35 games and flirt with a play off appearance, just so we can drop to the back of the draft lotto!

I don't buy the argument that Thabeet couldn't be a fit in this system- he simply would need to have decent hands, and with all the penetration that occurs with a spread floor, he could probably score 20 just on pick & rolls, screen and rolls, and put back offensive boards off missed 3's.

What does--I wonder if we swapped Thabeet with Jefferies have to do with giddy? I don't like Jefferies as a player---I think he brings very little to the table.

Yep - Thabeet dominated the entire game last night.

Anybody who doesn't think Thabeet improves the Knicks by leaps and bounds is a knuckle head and can't see 2-feet in front of their face.

The kid is the most dominant college defensive big man since Ewing, Hakeem & Mutumbo patrolled the paint.

How do you plan to swap Jefferies with Thabeet? Its pretty obvious the Knicks are not a lucky team. And they might have won to many games already to get a shot at Thabeet. How do the knicks get Thabeet if they are going to be picking 10-20 range and you are projecting him as the second overall pick. You know the lottery hasn't been lucky for the Knicks since Pat Ewing. This is the team when they are projected to get the 4th overall pick drops to 6th.

I was referring to you last comment about the Knicks philosphy of out scoring teams rather than holding them down from scoring. I don't know if Thabeet is going to pan out man he might be as awkward as Gallinari.

Briggs: Does Thabby's skinny frame bother you? He looks so damn skinny to me. Even if he goes to GNC for a couple of years, his frame is still small no?

Will he be able to bang down low with the big boys of the NBA?
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

Thabeet shot and hit a jump shot last night. Thabeet would be great for us. Not for hitting the jumpshot but he would mask Gallo & Lee's defensive problems and would help turn Chandler into a beast defensively.

Last nights game has risen his stock alot

He's not skinny--he weighs 275 and has big legs

Thabeet is a nice prospect in this upcoming draft, theres no doubt about that.

What I don't get is the constant moaning about how the Knicks will never draft him. I hate to break it to ya, but bitching and moaning on this site about it, isn't going to change the minds of D'Alsh.

And if they do somehow draft him, then just be happy about it. Complaining months in advance about it seems silly to me.

Right now, it looks like our pick will be in the teens. Thabeet will not be an option.
