When I read on the boards here and at realgm that a lot of people think that LeBron is coming to NY in 2010 I get encouraged, but a little worried that we're all just getting each other fired up and its not all that real, but in anticipation of Wed, I was googling some LeBron New York stuff and came across this poll result that says 45% of people think so and only 35% think he'll be in Cleveland which is pretty good:

The again, I think if LeBron gets a ring this year or next, there is very little chance we get him....

Only one who knows where LeBron will be is LeBron and his agent. It would be wise for the Knicks to have a backup plan just in case LeBron doesn't come to the Knicks.

I actually read a post on his agent on that site as well, he never hired a new agent per se, but Maverick Carter is apparently all about business and is now his "manager" - the article talks all about how it developed...:

I may be in the minority, but I'd rather build my own team like the Pistons did, and how the Blazers, Hornets, and Magic are doing...rather than just using all our resources on one player like LeBron. If we DO get LeBron, I'm worried that we would lose out on all the supporting pieces that would make the team complete (like the Cavs teams from previous years).

I'd much rather get a guy like Joe Johnson, and have the other pieces intact.

That being said, I'd love to see LeBron in Blue and Orange.

Love the countdown clock on that site – gives me the exact amount of time to hour before I call up MSG and order a decade’s worth of season tickets (and allows me to figure out how much time I have to save up the money!)

As has been discussed on this site plenty of times– there are plenty of backup plans. The number of top-notch free-agents out there in 2010 is mind-boggling:

That is what makes the Knicks plan a no-brainer. Even if LeBron stays in Cleveland – who would complain if the Knicks landed Amare and Joe Johnson, and then gave the mid-level exception to Mike Miller.

That is a starting five of Duhon (re-signed), Joe Johnson, Wilson Chandler, D Lee and Amar’e – with a bench of Mike Miller, Gallinari, Eddy Curry, Jared Jefferies our 2009 draft pick.

The future is a beautiful thing…

Yea, I like the Countdown too, I’ve been using it all day in my email responses to friends about “hell week” giving them the exact up to the minute timing of when we will be the team dishing out the pain, not the one’s fearful of who is coming to town.

Mike Miller is washed up by the way Tucker fan, by 2010 he’ll be Steve Kerr.

Seanc – you are missing the point! Mike Miller would be a role player on a team with that many superstars…

When the Knicks finally get some studs on this team – they will be able to flesh out the roster with role players who can contribute specific skills. And, as and aside, great teams need players like Kerr. Ask MJ.

And if the Knicks have a great team for the 2010-2011 season – maybe MSG will cheer for the home team… I know it’s a crazy concept but…

I guess if the Cavs make the Finals we will all tune in to find out.

I get your point, just thought Mike Miller was a poor example.

Having fans cheer so much for the Lakers last night was an embarassment. I'm not talking about the ovation for Kobe at the end, I didn't cheer, but I'm not going to get on those that did, but the cheers during the game made me embarrassed to be Knick fan.
