My question is: is Lee really that good or the system is what helped him improve?
In other words, what would a guy like Bosh who is a beast without a good system once coached by Mike D?
I kind of think that the system is helping Lee's totals. I think in a conventional offense, he would be more like 16 pts, 11 rbs, 1.8 ast, and shooting at more like 54%, which are still very good numbers. However, MDA's system allows for more scoring opportunities and the pick and roll plays that we constantly run for Lee allow him alot of opportunities to score at a high percentage. Lee's postgame has improved but he is still not someone you can put on the block 15 times a game and say, go score or create a double team. His midrange jumper has improved but it is still far from automatic. Moreover, his defense is still fairly suspect. Overall, Lee has shown that he is an improved player, but I think his current stats are slightly inflated due to the system. The real question is whether Lee is a starting caliber PF. I think the answer to that question is "yes" but he still needs to improve, especially on defense.
