Knicks trade Marbury, Nate, Jeffries
Kings trade Brad Miller, Kenny Thomas, Miki Moore, Bobby Jackson & there 2009 2nd rd pick.

Knicks dump Jeffries contract for 2010, and get a real center who I think would play well under D'Antoni since he can shoot, pass, & reb.

Kings save 22.4mil while they develop Thompson & Hawes. They also add a needed scoring guard in Nate Robinson since Udrih, Jackson, Douby, Brown aren't getting it done in that department.

Knicks look like
Miller/Moore/Curry
Lee/Harrington/K.Thomas
Chandler/Gallo/T.Thomas
Richardson/Jackson
Duhon

Kings look like
Hawes/Williams
Thompson/Jeffries
Salmons/Garcia/Greene
Martin/Robinson/Douby
Udrih/Marbury/Brown

Looks OK. But what about backup point. You will ask Lee to play it?

Bobby Jackson is a PG, he isn't a pure one, but he is more then capable of playing PG for 10mins a game.

Brad Miller may not be able to run, but he can shoot, pass, and rebound, he would play the Zach Randolph role with better passing and shooting skills but less scoring.

With an early 2nder like which Sac is going to have its close to as good as a late first rder. We could possible package that with our 2nder for a late first. Which we could possible turn into a 2010 first.

Kenny Thomas is just cap filler. Miki Moore is a defensive effort guy that we could give backup center mins to. Plus he can get up and down the court if we want to change to pace from Miller. Dumping Jeffries plus adding that early 2nder are the key.

Its a good trade for us. Not sure that it is the best option for sac.
But there are not to many Steph-like contracts around... so who knows

terrible trade, Jeffries contract is not terrible and NO WAY do I want to lose nate. If you have to trade nate at least dump curry or get back a #1 draft pick.
fishmike 9/27/2024 11:00 PM Ug I hate this. The idea of Towns is great until you see what a pussy he is. Jules is a dog. DD was a flamethrower locked up cheap for 3 more years. First Leon move I hate

Weird, I put something similar in that trade deadline thread without seeing this one...

No point in trading Nate in this scenario. Flip in Mikki Moore and Sacramento is saving $20MM. And really, the only change would then be Brad Miller replacing Jeffries in the starting lineup. The other guys wouldn't play.
