Lee To Remain In New York?

Knicks president Donnie Walsh said it is unlikely that David Lee will be traded ahead of the February trade deadline and that the club is committed to re-signing the star forward, the New York Post is reporting.

Because Lee is a restricted free agent, the Knicks have all the control because they can match any offer sheet.

"That's the key," Walsh said.

Is is believed that Lee's representatives were asking for $10 million per season before the season, which New York did not want to pay.

Lee is just here as a courtesy to the millions of Knick fans. Oh, he's a player and all, and I know Mike D'Antoni was campaigning for him. But when your guy makes an open 20-foot jumper, and everyone is pleasantly surprised? That guy's not an All-Star. The competition is just too stiff. Look up there and look at who made it, and tell me who he should replace. ESPN
Hey what about that 10 million per year I wonder who will pay that much.

Lee doesn't take 20 footers. That analysis is a little bit off.

I don't think any of us want Lee shooting out side of his range which is probably about 10-15 feet away.
