It's time for the great debate again -- which would you prefer:
I want the Knicks to make the playoffs
I want the Knicks to have a better lottery position

I voted for Playoffs. I just can't ever cheer for the team to lose. Sorry. That's just never gonna feel right for me no matter how many times people try to argue that the lottery helps our long-term chances of winning.

playoffs. it's essential to anthony roberson's continued development.

seriously, i did vote playoffs. it's time now to start moving forward. plus it can only help when it's free agent time as opposed to being a perpetual graveyard lotto team.

I voted playoffs... what primetime UFA will sign with the Knicks if they continue to make zero progress (at best)?

Bingo. You want to be serious about attracting free agents? Become a serious team. You gotto start somewhere.

You guys are nuts. No good comes from getting swept by Boston. I'd rather have any shot at Griffin and the higher draft pick.

Next year we can worry about the playoffs.

Funny how no one rationalizes what having a Top 5 pick could do in terms of trade value. As if a Top 5 pick couldn't get us a Big Fish this summer. Isn't this how the Celtics got Ray Allen in order for K.G. to come aboard(rolling eyes)

Funny how after all the years in the lottery, it took a strong playoff showing to give the Hawks the boost that they needed.

Well you're nuts and it's tiring when 2 of those yrs they were given away for the most worthless piece of crap in Curry.

You would love or appreciate the Lottery more if we had chances at Brandon Roy/Aldridge/Rudy Gay in 2006 or Rodney Stuckey/Nick Young in 2007.

I'm tired of aspiring to relive what Mediocre feels like especially when we felt it before in 2004.

They wouldn't be there if it wasn't for the Lottery and FA. They could of had Chris Paul or Deron Williams also.

What are you talking about? That 4 game sweep by the Nets did amazing things for this franchise. Look at how much Nate has learned and grown from that experience.

I understand what you are saying because I've been rooting for ping pong balls all this while, until now. Personally, I feel that the Knicks could use a franchise player, a point, or a center. The only seemingly surefire franchise player is Blake Griffin. There are no guarantees to win the lotto for a guy like. As for a center, I really am not sold on anyone. I think they're all stopgaps. Now, pointguard? This year is STOCKED with talented point prospects. I don't think it matters too much if the Knicks draft 2nd or 20th if they want to draft a point.

So, with that in mind, I'll root for the playoffs. Establish a culture of winning and let the 2010 UFAs remember how awesome it is to play in May at the Garden. Then they can choose to be the face of the franchise in NYC in June.

You're slippin' Isles. Nate wasn't even on the last Knicks team to make the playoffs.

What I want isn't an option in the poll. I want The Knicks to just miss the playoffs and get pick #8.

Hopefully we can get another Sweetney or Frye that way.

That's our pick, and no one else can have it.

Yeah because has Nate played in a Playoff Game? Nope he hasn't. When we made the playoffs that yr instead of following the flow of the tank in what did it hinder us? Oh that's right we could of had greater chances to land Dwight Howard and although not an All-Star or even Franchise center he's at least more than a solid starter in this league at Center in Emeka Okafor. Even to a lesser extent because we gave up one of our first which was swung to Utah we could of had Josh Smith, Kevin Martin, or traded up to draft Al Jefferson one spot away from pick 15 or even possibly Andres Biendrins at pick 11.

Then blew our 2005 lottery pick on Frye who I was high on BTW but Bynum and Granger were there.

But when have we had the chance to draft in the Top 5? Ih that's right like I said we signed Curry in 2005 and traded them away to the Bulls in consecutive yrs mind you. Missing the playoffs every since 2004 and that's working out 5 major trades(Steph, Craw, Curry, (Q and Nate), Francis)
