Seems like this could be the Lee trade if the Suns indeed decide to trade him.

Lee would be a great compliment to Amare. I'd consider a deal of Marbury's expiring and Nate(Maybe even WilChan OR a pick also) for Amare and Barbosa.

Amare is the PERFECT center in Mike's system. We really need to thin the heard in the frontcourt a little and decide who is what.

Amare/Lee
Lee/Amare
Gallo
WilChan
Duhon

Barbosa, Q, TT,

Nice 8 man rotation

Jesus Joe, do you really think for a second that the Suns are going to agree to a deal of Marbury/Chandler for Amare and Barbosa?

Who knows. Marbury's expiring is huge. And it was also Marbury, Nate, AND Chandler OR a pick.

You would have to trade Lee to get Amare.

Superstar for Superstar deals are rare. Simple as that to me. Steph's contract is HUGE to any team especially if the Suns are trading Amare they are thinking rebuilding. Nash is a FA in a year or two so he will be gone. Getting Marbury's contract to clear space plus 2 quality players would be big for them IMO.

If the Knicks did something like that it would probably be Cutino and Lee

You trade Lee, Harrington and Jeffries for Stoudimere and filler.

The Knicks are much more enticing to signing a player in 2010 because we already have a stud on the team. We aren't promising or hoping for a Star to believe we can sign somebody. And it also gives us Bird rights(I think I don't feel like checking). The knicks would have Amare, Danilo, 2010 pick and chandler playing for a full year before 2010.

The suns would get a chance to start over with Lopez and Lee, plus about 15 million to sign a player next year (after signing Lee and letting Nash go) and 20million to sign a player in 2010 when Shaq comes off the books.

I don't think Amare Stoudemire is *that great*... In spite of playing in the D'Antoni system (with more possessions), he never managed to average 10rpg. He's an excellent athlete, but it's been pointed out that he's never had a great basketball IQ.

I've been curious about this, but if you have a great PG, is it necessary to have great scoring skills in the post when you have a great pick-and-roll partner? It's like the old Stockton/Malone debate - did they just make each other better - if they hadn't been joined at the hip since their early days, would either have had the career they did?

We don't seem to think David Lee has great 1-on-1 scoring capability, but he's been putting up great numbers nonetheless.

Zach Randolph, on the other hand, was able to put up superior numbers to Lee's (with the exception of FG %). The difference is that he also took the lower % isolation shots (and jumpers). Lee stays within himself.

I would think the Knicks thinking is how good would the player be under this system. Also--while I have been trying to figure out cap stuff--my thinking is the team option is something that can be worked with while Lee's may not.

Plus we could resign amare or sign and trade him for a player. The ball is totally in the knicks court.

Lee, Harrington and JJ2 would get that deal done. They can start Shaq and Lee and bring harrington off the bench for scoring. They also can build for the future with Lopez/Lee up front after they let Nash, Shaq and Harrington walk.

Yup.

I've never been an Amare fan, despite some of the numbers he has put up, and I hardly think that he would be an ideal center for the Knicks. Lee has shown continued improvement over his career, is a superior team chemistry player, and is now putting up numbers that make him a borderline All-Star selection. He would be a great compliment to any free agent superstud(s) we pick up in 2010, and I am sure that any of the better players in the league, and better teams, would love to have a guy like Lee playing 30MPG on their team.

To be honest, all things being equal, I'm not sure I would trade Lee for Amare one for one. I might be supportive of Lee because he was our draft pick and we have watched him grow and improve as a player over his career, but this has been a breakout year for him in some ways, and I look at him differently now.

It would be nice if the Knicks could deal with his contract situation and he could remain with the team when we finally become a contender, but if we do trade him, I would want someone else besides Amare in return.

Lee's breakout super 7seven seconds or less year is Stoudimeres Rooike year. I dunno, I feel like the knicks have so little that a player like get's put up there with players that he isn't even half of what they are.

Amere would be a coup if we ended the year with him, in any trade that doesn't lose the knicks pick, it would be an absolute coup!!

u'd have to trade more than Lee to get Amare... put Stoudamire on this team & he'll instantly be averaging 24 & 9 if not better, i don't doubt that for a split second.
