Eddy Curry has played 1 game since March 8th of last year.

First it was his surgically repaired knee that was bothering him. He sat out the entire season thus far, came back last week, played 2 minutes, then shut himself down because he started feeling pain in his other knee. So basically he now has problems with both knees.

Curry, as we all can see, is weighing in over 300 lbs. He is overweight and doesn't seem to have lost any weight since training camp. In fact, it actually looks like he gained some weight. When Jerome James comes into camp in better shape than you, that is pretty sad. It is obvious his weight is affecting him health wise. I am sure the knee problems are directly related to his weight.

Eddy Curry is fat, lazy, and injured. I do not see him playing much - if at all - this season. I think the Knicks should hope and pray that he remains injured because even a healthy fat Curry would not attract any interest from teams. Nobody is going to waste $10 million a season on a fat guy who can play 15 minutes per game at most. They should hope he remains injured so that they can apply to remove Curry's contract off the cap, ala Darius Miles with the Blazers. Of course there is no chance that will bite us in the ass because we all know a free agent, injured Curry will only continue eating himself out of the league. I could seriously see him wasting his time eating Lays potato chips in front of his TV in his basement if he did not have a contract with the Knicks right now. The man has no work ethic to ever make a comeback from a major injury. We need him to be seriously injured so that we can apply for that exception from the league next year and have his salary off our cap. It's the only way to rid of Curry. He is untradeable. He will still be here in 2010 if we don't hope and pray for this. Sad but true.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

We all joke around about these guys, but for the most part, it's either about their games, or about how they are acting stupid outside of basketball. It really isn't cool to jokingly (or seriously) say stuff like "I hope he has a heart attack." Heck, a bunch of people on this board were originally very worried about Eddie, flat out b/c of his past heart problems and that he could have that tragedy at any moment.

Hoping that these guys get traded or get bought out should be enough. No need to wish ill will on another person, even if it's joking.

Damnit. Can we please focus on my post and not some fool wishing death on Curry? That wasn't the point of this topic.

I don't think the plan for the Knicks is to get rid of Curry this year. They already know that is a failed mission. What I think is happening is the Knicks want Curry to get in game shape from now until preseason. If he does that then I would not be surprised if Eddy gets playing time next season so the Knicks can trade him. If Eddy does get in shape and gets playing time I think what you could see is him getting traded because he would only have a contract that expires 2011. That being said, we might have to package him with a Chandler or Nate if Nate is signed to cheap contract to get rid of Curry's contract. As far as Eddy's knee problems, I really don't believe the recent reports about his knee. What I feel has happen is because of the harassment case against Curry the Knicks and Curry probably decided to shut Curry down this season until the negative press goes away. Other players have been injured on the Knicks before and you still see them shown on TV. If you noticed the Knicks cameras try to avoid showing Curry when he is at games.
