Yo man I told you guys he just doesn't have it...he's a good player and all that but he doesn't have the swagger to stick out when other guys are shining too. I'm rooting for the guy but he seems content with disappearing.

It looks like he hit the rookie wall. He'll be fine.

he deserves some time, I think he will be a Josh Howard type player.. He doesnt have the personality to be GREAT but he does have the ability to be very good. Even Tim Duncan shows some fire sometimes, I dont see Chandler developing that. But you can still be a very good player without that. Just not a star. Its all good though, we have GALLO!!!!

I love it. We're already on to the new flavor of the month.

Sweetney
Williams
Frye
Collins
Balkman
Nate
Chandler
Gallinari

You forgot about Jackie Butler, Matt Carrol, and Jamison Brewer.
Don't worry for Gallo will take the back seat soon enough once we draft our once-in-25-years franchise superstar in June!

Honestly though this is what happens on discussion boards. It doesn't help the players when for whatever reason they look like rising stars for about a month only to fall right back off a cliff. Nate, Harrington, Chandler have all done this to us so it's not so unreasonable to hop on and then off their bandwagons so quickly. Fans like good players and fans turn on players who fall off cliffs. It comes with being such a crappy team for so long.

As to Gallo there's already ridiculous expectations for the kid. Thankfully UK seems to be one of the more rational forums on the web. RealGM has him anointed as the second coming of christ.

Tim Duncan is a crazy mofo. He doesn't show expression because he is holding it in purposely like a homicidal maniac. He's the opposite of Garnett where Garnett is always talking. Tim is that guy quietly observing waiting for the right time to slit your throat and everyone else in the room, lol.

Well....lol...Wilson doesn't show that type of intensity. He can score alot or get a big dunk and he just walks away like he didn't just do something amazing. I dunno if he's just a humble dude like that or what but he has to get some nasty in him....Josh Howard has that nasty in his game.

I dunno if he will ever get that swag. I mean the Knicks are relying in him to set the table. They benched Al Harrington for him (to which al harrington has never complained about)...he's gotta be more aggressive and nasty.

+1. I've been saying the same thing. This kid has the talent to be a bigtime player. It's all up to him - will he be happy just doing what he's doing or will he eventually want and expect much more from himself? He has all the tools and a coach and organization that believes in him, now he's just gotta want to take the next step from a supporting, blend-in guy to a star-level player. He's gotta want to distinguish himself and take that next step. Right now, gun to my head, I see talent but not that type of drive and determination to be the best in this kid. Hopefully I'm wrong..

It's scary how drastically the winds change direction around here.

At least I'm consistent.

He's an Isiah pick. That means he's getting exposed after getting overrated on these boards after a good initial run.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

He needs to post up more and drive to the basket, he's shooting too many jumpers.

It's not just Isiah's picks.

It's not just Isiah's picks.

Most of Layden's picks didn't even have the good starts or start at all... or play at all.

Yes, Knick fans overrated every young player. The expectations for Gallinari are huge as well. People need to be a little more realistic sometimes so that they don't get disappointed so easily.

I don't think Chandler will ever be some sort of great player because he lacks any kind of basketball IQ and that type of thing you either have or you don't have. I think if he works on his shot and handle some he can be a good SF in this league. He's already putting up some good numbers and he's only 21 but my concern is that his basketball IQ will not allow him to grow that much as a player. Hopefully he proves me wrong.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

Well according to per, nothing has happened. He is the same player he was last year getting 33 mintues a game and taking 13 shots to score 14 points.

Dude, we have like 5 million small forwards. Ofcourse his development is going to become stunted. Thanks again, Knicks management, for the wonderful backlog we now have at small forward after that Zach Randolph deal.

Yeah, he's very inconsistent like Q. Hot when their on, but when they aren't, then there's no production.

I mentioned it twice and now three times. If you guys want to trade someone for a couple of draft picks, then trade this guy first. Nate Robinson for some reason has been falling into that category also. Look who's consistent and who has been inconsistent. I mean way UP' AND THEN WAY down!

There are players who have an off night everyone once in a while, but a few of these guys are not reliable at all.
I'll never trust this' team again.

To be consistent in hating on everything is easy.
To be consistent in rooting for the team no matter what is hard.

Hey, you criticize Knicks fans, or any sports fan really, for overrate their young players? Thats always gonna happen in every aspect of life. When things have been bad for a while, any sign of hope is gonna be the reason for people to smile again.

Obama, anyone?

Sorry to compare sports to politics but its the same thing. Obama came practically out of nowhere, practically has no experience and has youth and potential on his side. Millions have put their faith on him, embracing him because he must, in their minds, be better than the disaster of the previous president.

Criticizing fans for putting too much hope in their youngsters is silly because its a matter of human reaction to a bad situation and a ray of light.

Some may like to consistently point out the negative. Fine, enjoy that sad stability. People that have hope could strike gold someday and be happy. In the mean time, they'll enjoy the positive signs instead of play Grinch on everything.
