I hate that Duhon and Nate don't really look to get him the ball.

This guy is extremely special. Duhon and Nate will get it to him as he gets adjusted, and they adjusted to him. The last three games have gone a long way towards that inevitability.

He is a much better all around player than I think a lot of folks expected, especially as a help defender. He needs to get to the basket though, something that he did with regularity in Italy.
I'm worried about Chandler, though. As Gallinari has prospered, Chandler has declined, and in the last two games he has averaged 4 points. I don't know whether I am overanalyzing a very small sample of games (I hope I am), but MDA has to keep watch on Chandler and make sure that his game continues to improve and his confidence does not decline as he loses MPG to Gallinari. Look for Chandler to settle in as The Rooster's minutes stabilize. Adjustments as these are sometimes cumbersome. Despite the 4 points against Phoenix, he managed to contribute 2 blocks. A good sign.

I want to see what Gallo does after he's had a chance to play for a while and get into his game. I'm not worried about Chandler. He's in a little funk, but that happens to everyone.

Posted by JamaicanJetFan: Duhon is looking to get everyone the ball within the offense, I do think Nate struggles a bit with this. Right now i t seems like MDA is using Gallo strictly on the perimeter to spread the defense, which is OK for me as Gallo finds his groove and actually plays in the offense for the first time on the court. Gallo has to also make himself available to both Duhon and Nate and earn his shots. Official sponsor of the PURE KNICKS LOVE Program

Posted by Paladin55: I have been down on Chandler a bit but think it is coincidental that his play is declining just as Gallo is coming back. Chandler seems like a one shot and done type of player on the offensive end. He's got to mix it up - drive, kick, pass smarter on the move. Maybe he has just hit a wall. Posted by JamaicanJetFan: Remember he's just started playing so there's not a comfort level or play calling designed for him yet. Duhon is trying to run an offense. Nate and Harrington have narrow vision and go 1-1 too often. It's not a slight towards Gallo it's just that neither player is an orchestrator. Gallo got good touches. I'm sure in film sessions it will be pointed out that he drifted away from his defender a number of times and was wide open and never got the ball. I'm sure it won't take long for other teams to realize they can't let him do that either. In those points I wouldn't make much of it right now. http://popcornmachine.net/ A must-use tool for NBA stat junkies!

Posted by Knicksfansince94: great point and pretty much how i feel. We just don't need chandler to fade on both ends. If he can contribute on one end while the other parts of his game get back on track, then we will be fine.. ^The Mayor's defense is really his bread and butter. He has a hand up on his man everytime they shoot. He will be fine.

Posted by tkf:Chandler is very young also and this is his first season playing heavy minutes. Dont be shocked to see him hit a wall. MDAs rotations dont help there... hopefully Gallo helps.Posted by Knicksfansince94: "winning is more fun... then fun is fun" -Thibs

Both Gallo and Chan don't get enough shots IMO. Nate and Al are the biggest culprits, but even Duhon tends to ignore them sometimes. Both are so young that it's not a big deal right now. As they mature and start to demand the ball more things will change.

The main thing for me right now - how long will it take this kid to get back to being the player we see in these youtube clips? I would just love to know that the back is 100% and all he needs to do now is get acclimated to playing with his new teammates and in the NBA, but that doesn't appear to be the case yet, even though there's been noticible progress. Still disappointed everytime I hear he still has lingering 'discomfort' with the back - I can't wait for that to not be an issue anymore. If the back is still preventing him from going full-throttle, then he should do whatever it takes to get it right, even if it mean sitting out the rest of this year... No question about it though, the European Gallo we see in these video clips is a MAJOR IMPACT PLAYER. That's the player I want to see in a Knicks uniform eventually. Everytime I watch one of his European highlight clips I have to pick my chin up off the floor afterward - it's that impressive. He's playing well right now considering he just came back, but he obviously has the skill to be doing a whole lot more. Something to look forward too. In the meantime, I want to see him get more and more involved in the offense (I agree with JJfan and elite - get this kid the ball more) and with that height, give a little more effort helping out on the glass. Other than that, very happy he's back and contributing and I'm willing to wait for him to round into shape.

Chandler and Gallo are both young and will have their ups and downs. I'm not worried about Chandler. He appears tired. He's been relatively consistent this year so this recent dip is not too alarming. He'll be here for a while so the long-term is more important than how he is playing at this instant. I do think he needs to be banned from the 3 pt line and forced to attack the basket.
I just hope that people will like me
