Great win, the way the game started off, it looked like a blowout.. then nate happened. the knicks fought all night, and came away with a quality win.

Keys:

The amare factor: He had his moments, when Tim thomas was guarding him, but the guy just seems out of whack. I am not sure how fair it was to insert shaq as the focal point of the offense when that was pretty much amare's role. But as you can see, he is not the same. I really like him as a player and it is sad to see him this way.

Nash: 19 dimes? wow, didn't seem like it, but he didn't hurt us from deep with those threes and that was huge for us..

Nate: If not for nate, this is a blow out. He comes in when we were down 13 I think and he went off, pretty much saved the game for us. We needed that. He finished with 20/4/4/4, a quality game for nate. Other than that stupid tech he got on the bench, nate played a great game...

Lee: Say what you want, he outplayed amare and shaq to some degree. Having to guard shaq on one end when you are 6'9 and outweighed by almost 100 pounds is one thing. to put up 25/16 while doing it is another... I asked a question during the game thread, and don't get me wrong because you all know I love amare and think he is a fantastic talent, but.. If you, for the first time saw both amare and lee tonight, which guy would you be targeting for 2010? just curious... great, great, game for lee.... what more can be said..

Duhon: Hey, he took it to nash, I am sorry, despite nash's 19 dimes, 10 more than I thought he had, duhon sliced him up. His big baskets late and leadership was crucial, 19/7/6.. just a great stat line... He is having a heck of a year..

Chandler: Don't look at his offensive numbers, as many of you said, rookies do struggle and chandler has had very few 2 point games, but it is what he does in othe areas that matter as well. He had 4 boards and 2 blocks.. Now the key with the blocks, (and I honestly think he had more) was that he was getting them on shaq from behind, which threw his rythm and slowed him down.. that was crucial, gallo had one as well... But chandler played a big part there, and the key play was that 1 on 1 fast break stop, with a block on jason richardson was beautiful and a rarety in the NBA where guys are running back, flopping for charges. that was a key stop... we just need wilson to take better shots and he will be fine..

Al harrington: good and bad, good and bad... but he does give us much needed scoring off the bench, I just wish he commits more to passing the rock. A few times he ignored his teamates who were wide open. One being gallo who is shooting the ball well. Nevertheless , I will take his 17/8, a nice block on hill and 50% shooting tonight..

Timmy: Was invisible until the 4th where he came alive. He was also active on the defensive end, but he hit two big threes which gave us control of the game. His 10 points seemed a lot bigger than it reads on the stat sheet.

GAllo: another solid game. 10 points and 4 boards shooting 4-7 from the field.. this kid is showing us something new every game. He competes and he will fight. that move going left on barnes where he took him left into the lane, and stepped back for a fadeaway 12 foot shot was beautiful.. My son was standing there and was like "wow... that is a 6'10 guy doing that".. and I replied "now imagine a guy like amare doing that with his length" My son then replied back" He can't, right" and I said that is the point. As gifted as amare is, that is a shot he just doesn't really take or make.. very impressive for gallo. the jab step 3 on barnes was nice as well as his first basket, pump faking and going to the hoop. I like the way Dantoni is using him...

Jeffries: 5/2, solid game, scored all of his points in the second half, I think and had a couple of big baskets to keep us in the game, they were well timed hoops... His defense again was solid..

Q: not big game, 6 points, but he was active defensively. didn't shoot the ball well..

overall, we didn't get a lot of assists, 17 dimes and 14 turnovers, but the 12 steals and 5 blocks really helped seal this win for us. I would like to see more passing and guys like Al and nate involving gallo more in the offense. I saw gallo post barnes and duhon waved him off. Gallanari seemed upset. LOL. just goes to show, the kid wants to compete..

good win

Nice recap TKF. I think the main reason for the win is Nate Robinson. He was back to his old self playing hard and energizing his teammates with his good play.
