damn, what is with you & this black thing? what's so bad about celebrating the fact that this is the first minority who's ever been elected President? there's an awful lot of minorities & immigrants to this country who have fought & struggled all their lives & have waited a long time to see this day happen... the fact that Obama's a minority may be insignificant to you but it's very important to a lot of others who live in this country.
& btw, plenty of whites & Asians are into the car modding scene too, stop stereotyping.

What's bad about it is the tag they attach to him. He's an educated man taking office. Nothing more. I have no problem with the evolution of minorities being discussed and race relations hailed as a break through (although, we have a long way to go, and lets face it nobody will ever live in harmony with his fellow man in the end, but toleration has come a long way at least). Yet we're talking about the US President here. When you attach race to the man you attach racism to the man and that's not fair.
If we keep talking about people with their racial background attached to them then racism will never die. "Yeah I spoke to Jerome today." ("who?") "You know the black guy at work..." ("Oh, I know who youre talking about.").
See what I mean?
"African-American" "Black Man".
What is it with this garbage?
He can't be an American? He can't be a man?
Hey, I'm Italian. I've never heard anyone say "Yeah, that white guy Cosmic you know who I'm talking about." or "Yeah the Italian-American Cosmic."
Nope. Never heard it. Never care to. Yet for some reason. He's not Barack Obama. He's "The African-American Barack Obama" or "The Black Man Barack Obama."
How about... Mr. President? Or... Barack Obama?
Nope, Gotta be The Black Man.
Again, you attach those words to a man and you keep racism alive. No need to declare his race. None.
He's an educated man who became a politician who became President.
Yet people want to attach "Black" to him and either use it as a negative, as racist white folks who are screaming "son of a bitch a n''''r got elected!" or for racist black folks who are celebrating "yeah m'fer whitey gunna get his now!".
It....just brings out the worst in people....so to me it's time to stop with the whole "African-American" crap and just call him what he is. An American.
What's so hard to understand my rant on this? Maybe it's just me. Probably just me I guess. Yet people are acting like they're watching the special olympics here. "Oh a black guy got elected? That's so good! Let's applaud the black race for producing a president! Wheee!"
It's stupid and it's unneeded.
Instead of him being able to celebrate being elected as President he has to endure being "A Black President".
It's lame.
And, despite a number of my rants sucking ass, I think this one is pretty valid.
Let the man lead our country as a man. Not as a "BLACK" man. A man.
What's so hard to understand here?
Again, I guess it's just me, so I'll shut the **** up now, and hope Obama is the man for the job to restore this country and thus the world to more prosperous times.
