Espn radio reported that Kobe will almost certainly not resign and will leave the Lakers at the end of the season when his contract is up. There are so many reasons why shaq and him hate each other, shaq wants to prove he can win "it" without kobe, kobe wants to prove the same as well as leave a legacy like jordan's. But regardless of all that with all the legal problems surrounding him now all the signs point to the new york brighter than ever. When asked Kobe said the idea of playing in new york is one he really considers. new york is the only place that can give him his reputation back, get more endorsements than he'll know what to do with, and the place where he'd be adored by the fans.

I could see that as not too far-fetched if we had a REAL GM. Nobody wants to come here as long as Cap'n Crunch and the Funky Bunch are calling shots in NY.

Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

it would be ideal for the league if kobe did play for new york and "lead" them back to glory. but with layzie at the helm, i do not see that happening. he'll squander this like he did any other free agency period. kobe loves playing at the garden because he is egocentric and the garden is the most famous basketball arena in the world. but i see him joining the clippers before joining new york.

2 words: Salary cap.

Kobe will be so eager to play for the Knicks that he'll take mid-level exception? I don't think so.

WOW - I mean WOW. Who has been smoking the chronic around here lately? It is nice to dream a guy like Kobe would come to NY, with Marbury to follow - but it aint gonna happen so just put the pipe down and exhale my friends.

Here is why it wont happen:
1) Possibly the worst owner in the game
2) The GM SUCKS
3) The Salary Cap
4) No good players to ball with

Hmmmm...if I were Kobe I would probably go somewhere much more friendly to the championship mentality he has. Besides, Espn said yesterday he would go to the Clips. In my opinion he is a Laker forever...this is all about getting his name out of the mud because of rape - isnt it interesting how he suddenly has a feud with Shaq and wants to opt out and thats all anyone is talking about? Things that make you go hmmmmmmmmm.
