Marbury is that hard-to-get-along-with friend of mine who I never fully appreciated. But then I remember the time when I got kicked out of college, and was stuck with a $3500 bill if I ever wanted to return. Then I think about a couple of years later when my father passed away. Then I reflect on the time that I went through a divorce. And each time you know what happened – Stephon Marbury showed up… to pay my college bill… to tell me he would “kick my ass” if I didn’t study and graduate… to comfort me in a time of great loss… or just to share his own helpful advice. Yeah, I have been truly fortunate to know Stephon Marbury.

Nice propoganda from a beneficiary of Starbury.

Few despute his charitable side. What is disputable is his lack of loyalty to his employer and abilty to win. As a paid entertainer he fails.

He has made millions but what he adds little value to his employer.

He cheats on his wife and is uncoachable.

Im glad he helps people who are in need.

Too bad he he can't do what he is paid to do.

Stephon has always failed with the things money can't buy. Loyalty, hard work, winning.

exactly, I used to have a time seperating his philanthropic acts with his professional behavior. as you said he can be a good guy and generous off the court. But as a paid professional athlete, he is spoiled, uncoachable, self agrandizing, and he doesn't win.. this is where I think the problem lies between marbury and the fans who once rooted for him...

The ride has certainly been entertaining, albeit not for any positive reasons.

I agree with you all. I don't think anyone criticizes Marbury's philanthropic spirit, his sense of empathy or his community involvement. I think we are all aware of those acts and his character. Those acts (and his obvious talent) are the reasons why we put up with his drama for all these years (not to mention that his max contract has been unmovable).

I wish Marbs continued success in his business ventures and I hope he continues to give back to the community.

However, as PG of the Knicks, he lacks the ability to shut up and play team basketball. Look at Derek Jeter, he doesn't need a puff piece to point out everything good he does off the field or on the field. His actions speak for him. Sometimes, you just have to shut up and play.
You know I gonna spin wit it

Yes, I agree. Thanks for the opportunity to say that while Marbury's a great guy off the court, he's a real dickhead on the court.

Marbury is who?
Is he some former Knicks player?
Or he was driving the track and Eddy showed him his thing?

Don't worry. All loose ends will be tied and all questions will be answered when his tell-all book is released.

You wanna hug him when he's not a basketball player and when he's not cheating on his wife. You wanna choke him, Sprewell style, when he is a bball player and cheating on his wife.

That is the same site that published the pro Isiah article and censored comments so that only the comments praising the author and Isiah were kept. I would stay away from that site. I think a different perspective is fine but you have to allow people to share their opinion. The censorship maybe only for the author of the pro-Isiah article but I am against any site that allows an author to censor comments so it sounds like everyone thinks he is wonderful and his opinion is the God's Truth.

Marbury is insane. If he was not a millionaire basketball player, he would be in a mental institute somewhere. The dude has serious issues comprehending reality. The fact that his butt is home when 99.9% of the players in this league would have taken the $17 million and went to another team illustrates his instability.

Dude has always had a reality problem, never grew up, never matured (and I suspect on cocaine), had it all his own way on his destructive route. It's no wonder D'Antoni stabbed him in the back and left him for dead.

And on top of that, there's a new article that says he's saying 'it's hard to beat the billion dollar company, explaining that somehow he's a little man now? He's got millions upon millions of dollars and he's calling himself 'the little man'? When there's millions of us that actually make a living? He's beyond dumb. He's insane.
I'll never trust this' team again.

LOL....

Stephon Marbury attended Friday's game between the Lakers and Magic in Los Angeles and gave an update on his current situation with the Knicks.

"It's a billion-dollar company against me; basically, that's what it is," Marbury said in the tunnel at halftime "I'm standing my ground after I made an offer to them. For me, what am I going to do against a billion-dollar company? I can't beat a billion-dollar company so I got to stand still and just wait."

Marbury insists he never had a chance after Mike D'Antoni took over for Isiah Thomas as head coach this season.

"For me personally, I came in ready to do whatever they asked me to do," Marbury said. "I was willing to come off the bench, and [D'Antoni] said that he didn't want Chris Duhon looking over his shoulders. I couldn't win. I was in a no-win situation."
