imho, trade the pick along with curry to dump the contract to a team under the cap. the knicks would then have enough money to lure two max players.

we can't trade the pick this year, we already traded the pick in 2010... only way we can do that is to trade the draft rights to whoever we pick

acquire another pick via cash or trade (even in the 20's). or swap down to the team. this is a weak draft.

why not keep our pick, which is likely to be mid lottery anyways, & trade Nate & Lee for pick(s) & try to unload Curry in the process?

I like Derozan a lot. As a second first round pick (if we get an extra 1st rder) I like Jerome Jordan.
You know I gonna spin wit it

Our two greatest needs are a PG and a shot blocking center.

if we are going after LeBron, then we need a PG less, and thus, I would say we need a player like Hasheem Thabeet.

In fact, I think it improves our chances in 2010 by adding a real stud difference maker in 2009.

Lee/Curry to the Blazers for Raef's expiring. If the Blazers want Lee badly enough, then let's play hardball.

Blazers aren't going to have capspace in the next few years anyway with the Darius Miles situation so adding Curry's money shouldn't be a huge deal (other than luxury tax)

i'm assuming u meant to include POR's 1st rounder unprotected too... i don't think that's good enough value to be honest... LaFrentz is completely useless, so it's just a salary dump & a late 1st round pick you're trading for there... if u included Bayless in there also along w/their 1st round pick i would sign off on that deal in a heartbeat tho... that would allow us to trade Nate as well for another pick & own 3 in this draft... even tho it's not chock full of elite talent, u can still nab some good talent later in the 1st round so having extra picks could be key... or u can combine picks & move up to get a player u really want.

Hahahah. I think we're all getting tired of watching this team and are getting trade/draft happy. Oh well, just one more reason to look forward to the summer.

i would love to end up w/any of these combinations (assuming we can land an extra pick w/a Nate or Lee trade):

Griffin & Teague
Jennings & Patterson
Hill & Derozan
Thabeet & Budinger

or any other combination of those 8 guys

Sure, I was just giving the basis of the deal. Throw in Bayless or the 1st rounder. I think that's fair for the Blazers.

I don't want to hijack this thread though.

Eric Maynor, PG, VCU.

i say we draft an undersized SG who can't put up better #'s than Anthony Robersuck... that's what any smart GM would do.

I just read on a blog somewhere that un-named sources have inside information that big foot has come out of hiding and thinks the Knicks are moving in the right direction under Walsh and is ready to sign a 10 day contract. Walsh responded by saying "well since he's new to the league, we're going to have Curry work with him on diet and condition and Jeffries will be schooling him on how to score in the paint". The blogger says that the deal will be announced later today on ESPN and that Big Foot should give the Knicks the shot blocking and inside presence they have been lacking. More as this story develops.....
