There is good and bad with this system. The bad is it seems to allow players carte blanche to take 3's. Nate's 3 pt attempts have jumped up two fold from last year and 200-250% over his first couple of years. Nate was shooting 47% before this slump--the best in his career. After the groin injury and as the season has gone on I think the multiple 3 point fga's seem to be taking a toll on his legs which will effect the long range shot. I would hope the coach *recommends* or ORDERS nate to take NO more than 2 TWO wide open 3's a game and concentrate on moving the ball rebounding defense and when scoring opportunities present themselves--they should be within 14 feet to the basket. He needs to reduce his degree of difficulty and overall number of shots and concentrate on good high % shots and other facets of the game

Same with Chandler?

No Way

Martin - the difference between Nate's degree of difficulty and Chandler's shot selection, specifically drives to the basket, is that The Mayor makes his. The confidence factor between the two players is like night and day. Nate looks to the basket and forces his shot.

Chandler keeps his head up.

Just Watch.

*Disclaimer* (this is not a knock on Chandler)......

I've been watching, and Chandlers best games are when he takes the ball to the rack and takes numerous trips to the freethrow line. I do believe he is taking way too many threes. He said it himself in an interview after the Charlotte game.

Uptown - I ain't mad at you. As a matter of fact I ain't mad with nobody.

The Mayor is still in the experimentation stage. Part of that is finding his sweet spots on the court, learning the lighting, dead spots and rims in different arenas and filing the information for future usage.

It's all good.

I was referring to 3 point shots. Chandler is shooting 30% from 3 point range and 47% from within the line. Shoot more 2s!

mayor has been fortunate to only have limited exposure to the isiah era.

nate has to shake off 3 years of nonsense. and he's clearly not ready to make decisions for a team on the court. put him in the boobie gibson role and he would flourish. i think his role needs to be cut back but unfortunately on this team, there's nobody else that he can take a back seat to.

Nate has years of bad habits developed by playing with Knuckleheads(aka Knickleheads). It will be a while(if ever) for him to learn a good shot from a bad one. These guys still need mentors and have needed them for a while.

The Mayor-Definitely needs to stay away from the 3 pt line. An uncontested one is fine, but if he's being guarded he needs to go to the rim and develop a mid range game.

Nate is just in a slump. Nate has always been a decent shooter, so I think the recent slump is due to his injury. He should return to form in a few weeks.

Chandler definitely needs to stay away from the contested 3s, as others have said. The kid still looks good though for this being his second year.

It's all good.

I swear the guy could yank down his shorts at center court and lay some cable and you'd find a way to defend it or classify it as part of his learning.

The facts are clear that he's better when he attacks. It is painfully obvious he chooses to do this far less often than he should. How are you missing this?

Hard to say what is going on with Nate yet it's obvious he has reverted to the 2nd year player that was being questioned. He's back to being a mistake prone bone head and just chucking selfishly away. Nate is in his fourth season. We've seen his talent level. We've seen his lack of maturity come and go. Now it's back again.

Maybe this is just who Nate Robinson is.

We all know we're undermanned and in a bad spot with the tearing down of the roster and that Nate is really best suited off the bench for 15-20 minutes a game and only more if he's got it going. Yet it's still no excuse for the lack of maturity he's displayed in recent weeks. A shooting slump happens to all players but there's more to this than a slump he's flat out taking retarded shots and making unforced errors adding to the misery.

Well, I don't disagree that he has taken some bad shots. But alot of those shots are shots he usually makes. If he made those shots at his normal rate, he would probably not look as bad as he does now. That being said, there is no question that Nate does need to get back to making the effort at passing and setting up his teammates that he started to show last year and for the first 15-20 games of this year.

Is Nate worth 7.5 million because I think will get something very close to that on the open market, because he can provide the lift off the bench that a team needs.

I don't like what I am seeing from this team there are too many losers mentalities out there. We need Nate and Chandler being more agressive and attacking the basket
