i could see he was uncomfortable playing the way his shot hit the rim
this is bad news because having knee discomfort to a degree that you cant practice months after having surgery[to that knee] is a clear sign that a they botched the procedure b they missed something when they were inside c. the rehab following the surgery was to intense causing the knee to become unstable again, not allowing proper healing time
this will not go away, and cant be controlled with medicine. IMHO,they will probably need to go back in to see what is going on
yeah, i guess we need another shooting guard to back him up. mo pete is'nt the full answer but he is young and learning. i would rather have crfawford.

Norman has been suspect for many yrs as knicks surgeon. The knees he has screwed up is growing by the minute. Norman needs to be checked out from the neck up.
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

Unless Layden can swing a 3-for-1 deal today, he'll probably have to waive Matt Carroll (Allan's backup at 2) and run Eisley and Frank as backup 2-guards. I kid you not.
In any case, by 6pm today, Knight will probably be gone, and Slavko becomes the new Herb Williams of the team.

I'm starting to think that both Travis and Othella will be waived. Yes its alot of money to throw away, but the Knicks will end up saving that money in luxury tax savings at the end of the year (unless there are cap rules that I'm not aware of concerning waived players).
The Knicks don't have much trade leverage right now because most teams know they are going to have to cut some players...and why trade for them when you minght be able to sign them after they have been waived.

we deal harrington and a lottery protected 1 to Denver for Rodney White. He's a 6-9 235 pound athletic 2-3 who just turned 23. we wont do any better drafting 14+ anyway
cutting knight is no big deal.cutting harrington and letting him go to a miami or a chicago for the minimum is dumb.
weneed to really try to address our big time defeciency at the wing with houston's knee in shambles.matt carroll is not the answer--we have committed to to many young players who are sitting.

Package KT and Othella to Milwaukee for Kukoc. Sounds like we are giving KT away but Kukoc can still play, a huge ending contract and we can force feed one of the kids at PF.

OR any of these other trades would trim our roster...
KT, Knight and Harrington for Eddie Jones (4 years left)
KT, Knight and Harrington for Penny Hardaway(3 Years left)
Knight and Harrington for Wesley Person (1 year left)
KT, Knight and Harrington for Grant Hill (4 years left)
Hmmmm. I think we are better off just cutting 2 guys, but instead of Knight I would cut Spoon and Eisley. Get them off the books and then you have Knight and Ward off the books next year.
This will give Frank Williams playing time and I am not that upset with Shandon being our backup SG. He is a slasher and we have a lot of guys who can shoot from the outside right now.

Though I would love to see the Knicks eat contracts just on principle (coughHOUSTONcough) there is no way any GM would eat Eisley or Spoon's contracts. For one, they are the 2nd options at their positions (scary, but true), second, if you're going to pay that much money for the next several years, you are going to use them and not pay tham AND their replacements.
Eating Knight's contract is expensive but not as painfully so as eating Eisley or Spoon's. You would have to replace them and pay someone else. The Knicks don't have the kind of money needed for that to make sense. It's cheaper to suck for another few years.
Still, it would be nice to say "we'll pay you because we have to, but you're off the team because you stink."

Nets worked a buyout on Deke's deal ... they're not paying all of what they'd pay if he were still on the team ... and since they're not replacing him, they come out ahead financially (by I think in the neighborhood of $5 mil./yr.)
I think folks on this board are too tough on Spoon. Yes, he's limited (read: sucks on offense), but he rebounds extremely well (near the top of the league in boards/minute), plays very hard D, and is also 2nd in league in an interesting stat (from recent issue of SI) -- the good teammate stat: rebounds-to-shot attempts. Guess who the leader is. Ben Wallace.
It is frustrating seeing his shot thrown back at him time after time ... you would hope your 4 would be more productive with the ball 2 feet from the hole, but he's 6' 5'' -- really pretty amazing he grabs all those boards in the first place.
So I wouldn't be too eager to get rid of him, just wish we had enough good or healthy players that he'd play the 15 minutes a night his talents would earn on a decent team instead of the 25-30 the Knicks have been giving him.
