ESPN, just mentioned that the Kings were looking to get out from under the conrtact of Kenny Thomas who is owed 9 million next season. Brad Miller is making 12 million this year, and 13 next. The Kings want to get rid of salary. I wonder if they would do the following.

Brad Miller/Kenny Thomas/1st Round Pick for Marbury. It would save them 20 million off the cap next season and allow them to make a run at a free agent and save them 20 million dollars next year. I think the deal is somewhat feasible; and essentially be buying a lottery pick for 20 million.

Thomas, obviously will rarely play, but it gives us some depth at the center position with Curry and Miller who fits in perfect into the system and will be a nice trading asset next year.

Why do we want to save the Kings money?

Why would Dolan want to pay an additional 40M dollars next season when he won't have to after Marbury expires this season?

How would Brad Miller and Kenny Thomas help anything here in any way?

If we're taking back the Kings trash, even if it expires in 2010, then they're taking back our trash, all 2011 of it.

Otherwise, no thanks.

If we can get a 1st round pick along with Miller and Thomas for Dinglebury then we should do it. Donnie still making deals that does not veer away from the 2010 plan and add a 1st rounder. Sacramento has the Houston pick for the Artest trade so we are looking at a high teen early 20 type pick.

Because Miller is tradeable in the last year of his contract to a playoff team next season and you would be getting a first round pick to go with our draft selection which can be used to move up or draft two pieces for 2010.

Salary isn't the issue here because we save them money and still have a cap space down the road.

For our purposes, we can save a team about $20 mil by trading Marbury for contracts that expire in 2010. We should try to parlay that into extra picks if possible. But keeping in mind that $20 mil for a mid-round pick is sort of terrible. That being said, how else are we going to acquire cheap assets/prospects to have on the roster for 2010 and beyond?

The problem with that trade is that Dolan has to fork over about $44 million in salary and luxury tax next season for two players that don't matter. I know Dolan isn't cheap, but that's going a bit far.

Chandler was the 23rd pick in the draft, Lee was the 29th, but if they give us their lottery pick that would essentially give us three lottery picks, Danillo (if heathly) Chandler (would be now) and chances our we finish out of the playoffs so maybe even a second lottery pick.

trading marbury + chandler could possibly get you jermaine o'neal.

Not really he did it for Jalen Rose.

He allowed Isiah to do it with Crawford taking on JYD.

Par for the course for Dolan, if Walsh says it will help bring Lebron/Wade here Dolan will not hesitate

Jermaine O'Knee? To do what? Sit on our IR lol? I hope you're kidding with that post, dj.

Eddy Curry + Jared Jeffries for Jermaine ONeal. I'll even throw in Nate Robinson!

And again, Marbury and his 22M expire this year. If it did not, if you recycle it into 22M of 2010 salary, then Dolan pays 44M next year for it.

He's going to do that for crappy injured or fringe players at the end of their careers that won't even help for a playoff push? LOL!!!!

Marbury's gigantic contract will do nothing but bring back other team's absolute garbage on gigantic contracts. How that helps the Knicks in any way shape or form I'll never EVER understand.

Yet, the guy is still here, and fans are still trying to come up with trades for him, as if it's something that can help the team.

There's one thing Marbury does to help the Knicks. He expires this year. Let him expire. Nothing good comes from trading him. Getting a mid teens draft pick doesn't exactly make taking on 22M+22Mluxtax worth of another teams trash valuable.

Exactly. There's no value in such a trade for us at all. None.

Maybe for their unrestricted pick & houstons. Even then, 2 picks for $44MM is steep!

Jermaine O'Knee. That's great.

Though to be fair, he gave us the Slide Punch of Doom so I can't hate on him that much.

If another team really wanted Steph that bad or wanted to dump contracts for him, he'd be gone by now.
