Looking more & more like Lee is trade bait, by the same token, what could Nate yield in a trade?

Could he be a Vinny Johnson, instant O type off somebody's bench? We know he has deficiencies but he's also a very confident & proficient shooter (important come playoff time).

Does a team that lacks backcourt scoring (i.e. Orlando, Cleveland, or in a Jannero Pargo role in NO) have a need for a guy like Nate?

maybe you get a 1st round pick and some cap space which isn't worth it if you ask me. Unless there is a team that has a plethera of big men that we can steal one from them otherwise i prefer to sign nate long term. Love watching him play and would like to see him on knicks for the next 6-7 yrs.

Given that we only have two guys on this team who can adequately run the pg position (Duhon and to a lesser degree Nate), Nate is more valuable to us. Although Lee is a more valuable player overall, we have Harrington, Chandler, and possibly DG next year, who can do most of what Lee does. We really have no one to replace Nate.

If we did trade him, Nate would be worth at least a top-15 1st round pick.

Also, I think you really need to be in the arena to experience the energy that Nate brings to the game. It doesn't get captured on telecast well. Every time I go to MSG I'm amazed by his energy and athleticism.

I'm wary of a Lee trade. I hope there's a way to hold on to him. I don't think it's easy to duplicate all the skills he has plus the youth and hustle, and he's comfortable in NY. And he seems to still have more upside.
If you are still following the team and reading sites like this, there is nothing, short of your own demise, that is going to throw you off this train.

I'm really into holding onto little Nate. Believe it or not (and I do based on other player's statements I read all the time) other players around the league marvel at Nate's ability and heart. Not only is Nate a damn good little unique player (and worth keeping around on this alone) but he could also serve as an instrumental recruiting tool when it comes time for 2010 free agency. I could see that. Not saying Lee couldn't also (I gotta believe guys respect Lee's game as well) but Lee's not the guy other teams' players think about, marvel at AND COULD SEE AND ENJOY PLAYING WITH, it's Nate. Nate and D'Antoni are HUGE pluses for us when it comes down to those 2010 FAs making a decision on where to sign. Something to keep in mind..

Even if we dealt Lee, he's replaceable. Whether it's with a big, bold move for a big-time PF FA in 2010 (Bosh or Amar'e - both are much better players than Lee), in a trade by the deadline where we pick up a guy like a DeAndre Jordan or Jordan & Marcus Camby, in the draft where we may have options to move up (hopefully) to grab a Jordan Hill, stay at home with our pick and grab a guy like Patrick Patterson or acquire an additional lower pick and grab a value PF like a Taj Gibson or even if we took a chance on a scrap heap option like a Justin Williams for the time being. Not to mention we still haven't seen 6'10" Gallinari play yet; the Knicks drafted this kid to play the PF. Some options are better than others obviously but the idea remains the same - we're talking about replacing some important rebounding (Lee's 14 ppg this season can be achieved by other players when we finally have this thing built properly) and IMO anyone of these guys could come in and replace what Lee brings, more or less provided they got the mins. I don't sweat trading Lee at all. I think he's valuable however and I refuse to get fleeced here - as long as Donnie grabs a decent package for Lee, we'll be OK. We wouldn't even have to bring back an interim big in a Lee trade like a Channing Frye for example - you give me a Bayless and a pick and I'd probably be OK with that for the time being (get Curry back up and running, move Al over to the 4, etc..). Losing Lee will sting for a while but we should come out on top in the long run provided Donnie's thinking 2, 3 steps ahead here, which is exactly what he should be doing.

I wanted to hold onto him at the beginning of the season but I say deal him if the right opportunity comes along. I can't say he's any more valuable than Mike James or a Bobby Jackson of a few years ago. If the Knicks can get a 10-20 pick for him, they should pounce

Why any team will trade for little one?
When his time will come they will get himm chip because Knicks will not match...
He is small, stuppid, overemotional.. he is running and gunning minus.
