Basically fooling around with unloading some guys I'm fed up with (hoping to catch lightning in a bottle with a little youth):
New York trades: SF Shandon Anderson (8.4 ppg, 3.1 rpg, 1.1 apg in 21.1 minutes) PG Charlie Ward (7.2 ppg, 2.7 rpg, 4.6 apg in 22.2 minutes) C Kurt Thomas (14.0 ppg, 7.9 rpg, 2.0 apg in 31.8 minutes)
New York receives: C Kelvin Cato (4.5 ppg, 5.9 rpg, 0.3 apg in 73 games) SG Cuttino Mobley (17.5 ppg, 4.2 rpg, 2.9 apg in 73 games) PF Eddie Griffin (8.6 ppg, 6.0 rpg, 1.1 apg in 77 games) Change in team outlook: +1.0 ppg, +2.4 rpg, and -3.4 apg.
TRADE ACCEPTED
Due to Houston and New York being over the cap, the 15% trade rule is invoked. Houston and New York had to be no more than 115% plus $100,000 of the salary given out unless trade exceptions were used for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
