No but I have noticed that he's jacking up a ton of bad shots and still playing crappy defense.

I like Nate and all but anyone with half a skill-set (Jefferies & Malik don't count) can get points if they jack up 18 shots a game.

Nate needs to be aggressive - no problem there.

I just want him to play better D and also create for others.

He gets too geeked up and starts going all street ball.

His stats need to net us wins -- not bigger stats. WINS.

Exactly and it's been an excuse for Harrington and Chandler to follow suit and do the same thing.

I like Nate but he's destroying the team concept and it's worn thin on all his teammates. If it doesn't change use him to get rid of Jeffries or Curry.

If you don't play team ball you don't belong here. It's pretty simple to see that now.

What Legend said. Big Nate fan. He has brought it every night since he's been a Knick. He's a solid scorer and puts a lot of pressure on the defense. His shot selection is still poor and our offense falls apart when Duhon goes to the bench and he runs the point. Also his defense is back to last year's level. He came out geeked to get steals and create havoc but has since fallen back on bad habits where he conserves energy on the defensive end.
I just hope that people will like me

If you are 5+ and screener is regular NBA 6.9 you will have this problem too...
He is SG... and for SG his 5+ is a huge un-reparable disadvantage.
He cannot became the PG too... You cannot grow brains same as you cannot grow in height at his age.

One thing I noticed about Lil Nate is his pick-and-roll play. He will never pass the ball to the guy setting the pick. Is it because he is too short and cannot see the passing lane or he just wants to shoot the ball all the time.

i AGREE, it is really simple.. This offense doesn't need a lot of dribblers, it would be better off with guys who are efficient shooters, good passers and guys who move without the ball... Nate would be ideal for a GS offense, where nelly has his guys dribbling all day and then shooting..

I think its cuz he's open and has the better shot.

You know I'm reading these posts and I'm shaking my head. Who on the Knicks should be taking the most shots? I think it has to be Nate and Al cuz the rest of the guys playing are just role players.

I don't get what any of you guys are saying as far as not passing and chucking. Timmy, Jared, Q, even wilson can't create their own shot. Not even Duhon "the bus driver" can create his own shot....unless its the obvious pass to an open man he can't create anything.

So who is gonna take the shots? Who is gonna pull their balls out and try to carry the team when nothing is working? I simply don't buy the talk that Al and Nate are messing up the team.

I'm not bashing this team now.......take off the hate glasses from the isiah era. This team plays 7 guys if that. Nate Robinson is averaging 23pts per game in the last 7 games....he's averaging 17pts on the season.....the mofo is the second leading scorer behind al harrington.

I know the offense calls for passing but if after the Knicks go down by 10 and the real go to guys in Jared and Q aren't hitting? Wth are the leading scorers and most talented offensive players supposed to do?

Smh.....

Robinson's struggles are similar to what Al Harrington is going through in coach Mike D'Antoni's system. Both players give great effort and can be unstoppable when they get hot, as demonstrated during the West Coast trip earlier this month. But their tendency to create for themselves instead of playing within the system has led to some ugly possessions in recent games, especially when they're not making those contested shots they were hitting previously.

He just said it perfectly. You can apply that quote to Chandler as of late as well but I think he's doing it more because the other two are.

Not hating on Lil Nate, it's just that if he actually uses his teammates he will have a better shot. The shots he was taking were definately not better. A lot of times he had to reset because he missed the rolling DLee. I think he gets too amped up and wants to take the shot all the time.

As for Al, I like it when he attacks the rim even though he does not get good results right now. You attack that rim and eventually good things will happen.

I want Raymond Felton (in Hahn's article). He's nothing special, but not as bad as people make him out to be either. He could start at guard, and backup Duhon, and Nate can just be a sixth man. Not ideal, but an upgrade nonetheless.

Let's hope the Immortal Jared "Play the Right Way" Jeffries impresses Larry tonight... imagine pulling off a Jeffries for Felton trade?

You wouldn't trade for him if he came cheap? 13pts, 40% shooting (a heck of a lot better than Telfair who has been thrown around recently in debate), 6ast, 3.5rebs... 4.1M this year, 5.5M-QO-next season.

Fits everything we need, a 2 year backup guard rental, who is fairly decent.

Yeah, he was downright horrible. I like the kid and his heart and fight. But if the mind doesn't come around.... then it's no help to us down the road as we try to build a winning team.

So if the signs are there it won't come around, and he's got some decent games under his belt to gain interest from other teams, I would strongly consider using him to move along Curry or Jeffries for shorter deals.

Nate's a strong personality, a ball dominant player, so no matter the role you're going to get a heavy dose of Nate Robinson. If that's not conducive to winning basketball on a team that wants to be playoff competitive at the least down the road, then you explore trades based on his present value.
