Are all three going to die in a plane crash that you're aware of between now and 2010?

Take away Chris Bosh Lebron and Wade--what FA in 2010 that will be available to us that will make a significant impact.

I think a lot of the FA in 2010 can make a significant impact. But only Lebron + Bosh can make up a championship team.

There is risk attached with going under the cap in 2010 instead of rebuilding on the fly ala Isiah.

Same high-risk high-reward approach The Logo took while moving Vlade out to make room for Shaq.

The only guy that is on the plain to change a team is Lebron. Players can make the team better but only 1 is a game changer

Are you talking championship? Cause I thought you said significant impact? A lot of FA's can do that. Dirk Nowitzki, Yao Ming, Amare, Nash, Manu. Take any 2 of those and you have made a change that will have significant impact.

I'm not too concerned about that. Being under the salary cap doesn't mean the team must sign a free agent to a maximum contract that year. The Knicks can make a trade with a team without the salaries matching, like the Bobcats did with Jason Richardson. (actually that may be a bad example because Charlotte just turned around and traded him away again for 2 role players), or just use the cap space another year. I think this whole 2010 thing is overemphasized. Clearing salary isn't only a good idea because of the 2010 Free agent list, but also because it's gives the team more options, which is something that a GM should try to open up.

Yes that is a definite angle. If we cant get what we want--we certainly can benefit as a facilitator and contain the cap space--like taking a player + a 6 pick in the draft etc... to get another team under the cap.

Joe Johnson, Stat, Yao Ming, TMac, TJ Ford, Nowitzki, Josh Howard, Redd, Jefferson, Tyson Chandler, Manu and yeah, Nash.

That's outside of restricted free agents (rookies like Rudy Gay) and of course Lebron, Wade and Bosch.

But that's all beside the point, since Grunfeld was dismissed, the Knicks have primarily traded contracts for bigger contracts for bigger contracts for bigger contracts yada yada yada.

2010 is not just about the Free Agents, it's about rebooting the franchise and yes we were so capped out we were limited in our movements.

No longer are the knicks the haven for the overpaid and crippled, where bad contracts are bound to end up.

Why does anyone think becoming a contender again will come easy? There will be blood.
